Hey guys, authors note at the top. Weird right? Anyways, just wanted to warn you that the next few chapters are gonna be a little frustrating, but they have to happen. So, brace yourself.

Chapter 18

I had to keep telling myself that I was the one who "broke up" with Eli, and that I shouldn't be feeling even the slightest hint of jealousy.

But it was just so hard.

Eli was prancing around as if I was nothing to him. I mean, he wouldn't do anything mean to me or anything, but he just sorta... left me alone. He said hi to me, he asked me how I was, and that was it.

I mean, this is what I asked for, but it was just weird. And I couldn't say anything about Eli acting normal towards me. Everything was just so confusing.

I sighed and forced myself to stop thinking and just eat. I put another spoon of the cereal in my mouth and sighed again without meaning too.

"Hey!"

I looked up to find Bianca and Levi sitting down across from me, showcasing their perfect relationship. Rubbing it in my face, basically.

"Hi," I mumbled and put another spoon in my mouth.

"What's wrong?" Bianca asked me as she opened up the generic cereal and poured the carton of milk into it.

I shook my head and continued chewing. Maybe she would stop asking me questions if I kept putting food in my mouth. I took another spoonful.

"You sure?" She asked.

I nodded again, and I knew she didn't believe me, but she went on anyway, probably deciding that I was probably not gonna tell her.

And she was right.

"Well, aren't you excited for the award ceremony?" She asked me.

I smiled, it was a real smile, but I'm pretty sure it looked more cynical than I meant it to be. But Eli and I hadn't done anything since that last day in the School. We were in the red zone. Our piece's were due in less than two weeks, but it seemed as if that was forgotten. I really did not want to think about this, or how my life had taken this screwed up turn and I couldn't seem to find a reasonable way out of it.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure Eli and I aren't going to win."

Levi scoffed. "Yeah right, you win every year."

I looked down at my bowl of cereal. "Well change is upon us," I muttered.

"What do you mean by that?" Bianca asked, suddenly looking concerned.

"Me and Eli aren't exactly finished with our piece," I mumbled.

"Lace!" Bianca exclaimed. "What are you guys doing, you need to finish!"

"How far are you?" Levi asked.

I continued to stare at the makeshift bowl. It was suddenly very interesting. "Um, well, I don't even know if we're halfway through yet."

"What?" Bianca exclaimed.

"I know, I know, I'm just not on great terms with the guy," I said.

"Jeez, you two fight like a married couple." Levi said with a laugh.

Bianca laughed too. "Yeah, it's almost as if..." she trailed off, and this look of realization crossed onto her face. "You aren't!" She yelled.
