Ah, VidCon. The time of year for YouTubers to connect with their millions of fans in person. It is every YouTuber's dream. For two certain YouTubers, however, danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil, this is the beginning of a never-ending nightmare.
But let's start from the beginning, shall we? That's a very nice place to start.

The doors of the Anaheim Convention Center in California swung open and hundreds of thousands of screaming fangirls (and boys) rushed their way for the final time over three days. Dan and Phil were ecstatic to meet so many more of their fans. They had millions of subscribers and it felt great to know that everybody was so devoted.
There were signings and selfies galore, Dan and Phil even gave away some of their merchandise. Hours went by and the day had ended too soon. The two YouTubers could actually see the end of the line. However, the final person standing there caught Dan's eye.
"Hey, Phil. She looks...kind of sad." He thought aloud. Phil glanced up at the girl and frowned.
"You're right. Maybe we should save the final signed copy of The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire for her." Phil suggested.
They agreed to the idea and greeted more of their fans. As the mysterious sad girl got closer and closer, they could see that her eyes were red.
"Is she...crying?!" Phil asked in shock, his big heart pouring out to her.
Dan furrowed his brow and walked around the two other groups to get to her. Phil followed closely behind.
He took this brief moment to take in her features. African-American, beautiful jet black hair, brown eyes like a fox. She looked about 13.
"Are you okay, sweetheart?" Dan asked, concerned. This was genuine concern, too, something Phil rarely saw out of his best friend.
The girl looked up and wiped her eyes. Her frown disappeared and turned into a sad smile.
"I'm fine. Why don't you go see your other fans? They look impatient." The girl pointed out. Dan and Phil turned to see two fangirls flashing middle fingers at the crying one. Her eyes welled up even more.
Both YouTubers crouched down to her level. "Are you sure that you're okay?" Phil insisted, knowing that something was wrong.
"I..." Was all that she could say before bursting into tears. Phil opened his arms, unable to resist. This was a truly heart-wrenching scene. The girl hugged back and cried into his shoulder while Dan placed his hand on hers. They had no earthly idea what was wrong but they knew how to fix it. Dan walked back over to the front of the line and grabbed the last signed copy of The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire. The other girls gasped and screamed swear words at him before stomping away.
Good. I was about to kick you two out anyway. Dan muttered under his breath.
The girl had calmed down finally and was smiling. It was a real smile, and a gorgeous smile at that."What's your name, love?" Dan asked, crouching back down and looking her in the eyes.
There was an awkward pause as she looked up at him.
"Paris." she murmured, and looked back down at the floor.
"That's a beautiful name," Phil mused.
She smiled at him and Dan decided in his mind that it was time to unveil their surprise.
Paris's beautiful brown eyes widened and her face lit up when Dan handed her the book.
"Really?! F-for me...?" She stammered as trembling fingers flipped through the pages.
"Yes, love." Phil chuckled, unable to hold back his smile. "For you."
"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" She screeched and pulled both Dan and Phil into a hug.
This made both YouTubers' day. They dreaded the fact that they would soon have to leave her to go back to England, but unfortunately that's how it had to be.

More hours went by and Paris had ended up going back to Dan and Phil's hotel room.
"Are you sure your parents are okay with this?" Dan asked to clarify as they were relaxing on the hotel bed, about halfway through The Avengers.
"They wouldn't be...if they were alive."
Dan's jaw dropped and Phil nearly spit out his Coke. He paused the movie and gaped at Paris.
"Oh my God...I'm so sorry." Phil consoled her.
She just nodded and pressed play again, only to have Dan pause it immediately.
"Who takes care of you?" Dan asked, his heart racing. What had they been thinking? This was somebody's 13 year old child!
"Nobody. I don't have a house. I don't have parents. I watch your videos at the public library and I snuck into VidCon to see you." Paris explained, growing annoyed. "There. There shouldn't be any more questions." She reached over for the remote and they watched the rest of the movie in silence.

Sunshine lit up Dan and Phil's hotel room. Paris slept on the couch and they in their own beds. She was the first awake. She woke up Phil and told him what exactly had been on her mind all night.
"Phil, I really don't have anywhere to stay...so...could I maybe go back to England with you guys...? Please? Just so I can have a roof over my head. It doesn't have to be permanent, just-"
"-Okay." Phil interrupted. He didn't even have to think about it. Here was a poor homeless orphaned 13 year old, and she had come to them for help. Who would say no? Not even Dan.
"R-really?" Paris asked. She was shocked that he agreed. Everybody else she asked always said no and called 9-1-1.
"Really." Phil affirmed.

And so that's how Paris ended up getting on a plane to England with her idols. This all seems like a sweet story, but it takes a turn for the worse shortly. Just you wait.
