Forever Love

Mai Taniyama was now 19 years old. After Naru and Lin left she started to focus more on her other professions. What SPR didn't know was that Mai worked two jobs to support herself. The first was working for Naru, but that fell under when he left for England. The other was working at a local bar.

Mai's boss was very nice. she let her go on cases with the team and gave her reasonable pay for a song writer and performer. The people at the bar loved to hear Mai sing. She had the voice of an angle and was very beautiful on top of that. Sometimes people came just to hear what new songs Mai wrote.

Mai's looks have changed since Naru left. She was now 5.5 and had a drop dead body. Her hair was now at the center of her back.

Naru's POV

Lin and I walked up to the bar the old SPR team was to met at. It was very nice, even if it smelled of the beer they sold. Monk and Ayako were already there. And waved us over to the table. Lin was able to contact everyone except Mai. This fact alone made me very sad. I noticed while in England that I loved Mai deeply. But Mai loves Gene.

While I was thinking all the others except Mai showed up. Also the owner was up on stage introducing the next band/ singer. Her voice was loud. "Now for our next performance! Let me introduce Mai Taniyama!" This grabbed my attention quickly. And I saw the now older Mai on stage. She was beautiful.

"Hi everyone! How are we all doing tonight!?" She asked the crowd. They all yelled and clapped. Mai smiled even more then she was. "That's great! Now here is some background on my first song tonight. I wrote this years ago for my first and only love. I call it 'Forever Love' (A/N This is a song I wrote. But not for the same reasons as Mai.). I am now going to share it with all of you, in hopes it will reach him. Enjoy!" Mai started to sing.

I told you that I loved you

And ran after you

But you left me there

In a place I didn't know

So she wrote a song for Gene. My heart feels like it has been shattered again. But wait why would Gene leave her?

You told me who to love

Challenged me on everything

You say that I lied

Well I'll tell you

Gene wouldn't do any of that. Would he? Who in the world are you talking about? "Who knew Mai could sing?" Monk whispered to his wife Ayako. She shrugged.

I loved you and only you

So stop all your lies

I'm not going to change

I'll love you forever

The music slowed.

You told me who to love

Challenged me on everything

You say that I lied

Well I'll tell you

'Who in the world are you talking about Mai?' I yell in my mind.

When you come back

Come find me

Then maybe you'll believe

That I love you

So she's expecting him to come back. But for were? The music picked up speed again.

"Who knew Mai still loved Naru after all this time?" John whispered to Masako. She nodded in agreement. Wait did he just say Mai loved me? That's not possible! Is it?

The music stopped.

Well I'll tell you

I'll love you forever

Oh oh yeah

I love you

The song ended and I was very confused. The whole bar clapped. Mai smiled. "You guys are great! Should I do another song?" The crowd went wild. "Shall we blow the roof off this place?" At this point the crowd was in a frenzy. Mai was a very good performer. Especially if she could do this only after one song.
