Neoma is of Greek origin and it means New Moon.
I chose this name for her, for two reason
1) because a new moon symbolise a new beginning of a face and since this book was the beginning of a new start for her, I wanted her name to symbolise that exact thing.
2) because a moon has something to with the night and it has something to do with light in the dark. Sometimes your light can burn very bright and clear and sometimes it doesn't burn at all, only leaving a tiny hint of once was there. And it is like that with the moon, when the Earth covers from the light of the sun, we can't see it, but we might sense it presence. We can also spot the outline of the moon that isn't covered in bright light. Matin saw the whole of Neoma and he wanted her to shine like full moon.
Matin in French means morning
And for Neoma he is a new beginning to her life. Like the morning is a new start for us. He is also a promise that she will get through the night and get to see the light that comes with the sun in the morning. So what other name could I really choose than that. Also it says a lot about Matin himself. He also sees at everything with positivity, but is also scared of the uncertain and nothing is more uncertain than what the rest of the day will bring when you have just gotten up.
I hope this was a fun fact for you. I just really wanted you to know the meaning and know that those name weren't chosen randomly. I actually spend almost an entire day, trying to find the names I thought fitted them the most and also was I name I think sounded as a name they would have.
