Mackenzie's POV

I woke up 10 minutes before I had to leave for school so I quickly got up and changed into whatever i could find ( the picture ) before going over to my mirror I put my hair in a high ponytail and doing my makeup natural I sprayed some one direction between us perfume and grabbed my school bag and phone before I left I saw I had a text from Nash I grew excited and opened it

Hey wanna walk? - nashxx

Um okay see you in 5 - Kenziexx

I was a bit disappointed that he was just asking a question I left and walked over to his house I knocked on the door and Hayes answered

" Oh hey Mackenzie come in Nash is in his room," he said

" Thanks Hayes," I said I walked down the hall to his room and knocked on the door "come in," he mumbled I went in and he was doing his hair I went up and hugged him from behind

"Hey babe," I said

"Hey babes," he said He grabbed his bag and we left we held hands all the way to school we went to the entrance when the principal stopped us and I couple of other students

" There will be no school today because mrs Williams has been murdered," he said everyone gasped and looked at each other with wide eyes except Nash he looked normal

"How?" I said curious

" All we know is that she was walking home and she took a shortcut through an alley when someone came up and shot her in the head," he said I cringed and remembered the person in the alley and the loud bang i leaned into Nash which he responded by wrapping his arm around my waist we all left and we walked to the local park we got there and a lot of our school was there in the gazebo people were calling there parents telling them the news I grabbed my phone and called my mom she picked up after 3 rings

"Mackenzie why are you calling me during your class??" she asked

"Mom we actually don't have school today because our maths teacher mrs Williams was murdered last night so there's no school," I said

"Well we're are you?" she asked

"Pretty much everyone is gathered at the local park so I might stay there for a bit," I said

"Okay have fun bye," she said

"Bye," she said we hung up and I walked over to the group of students everyone was yelling and worrying about how there's a murderer around

" HEY EVERYONE CHILL!!!" Cameron yelled we all faced him

"WHY DON'T WE PLAY TAG AROUND THE PARK TO GET OUR MIND OFF OF IT," he said people were saying yes and others left to go home we all ran off after someone was it and I ran into reformat which was behind the park I looked to my right and saw jack I walked over to him

"Hey jack," I said

"Hey Kenzie wanna stick together?" he asked

"Of course partner," I said we linked arms and continued walking around the forest exploring we came across a large tree so we climbed up the the top it was high enough so people wouldn't find us we stayed up here got what felt like forever catching up an talking about random shit

"Hey how's Nash? I heard you guys were going out," he asked I shrugged

" His good I guess but his been acting strange lately," i said

" Yeah I noticed he wasn't shocked or sad at all about mrs Williams death," he said " do you recon he killed her??" he said I hit his arm

" He didn't kill anyone!" I said a little to loudly because someone started shouting
