According to indian traditions once you have been married to a person you are expected to serve without questioning even if you receive nothing in return but I thought my marriage would be different and no doubt it was for a year but then eventually I found myself in the same category serving my husband without expectations

"Naina! Where are you? Where are my damn socks?" Gaurav's loud voice startled me, I kept our wedding frame down over the side table and walked over to the bedroom upstairs,

I saw him move bare foot around the room impatiently; he then saw me and stood with his hands over his waist

"How many times have I told you to leave them where they are?" He spoke angrily which was expected after all I had ruined his day of prominence and prestige

"They were dirty Gaurav, they smelled awfully bad." I argued and his anger boiled up as I could see it in his eyes

"Where are they?" He questioned sternly

"In the drawer where they are usually kept.." He glared then reached for his socks in the drawer.

"Once you were done washing them you could have just placed them back in the shoes." He mumbled as he wore them on before stepping into the shoes

"You know, it’s strange that you're complaining today when you never did before." He continued to glare at me.

"I’m not in the mood to argue Naina..just don’t touch my things and if you do then make sure you keep them back." He stood up and fixed his look in front of the mirror then headed downstairs ignoring me completely, I sighed and followed him behind, he then took out some papers from the cabinet and stored them in the briefcase

"I’m sorry Gaurav..I’m sorry for yesterday...” I murmured meekly as I saw him arrange some files in his briefcase.

"You wanted to know right? Why I behaved like that in the party...It was because...”

Suddenly I heard the locks of his briefcase snap shut

"It really doesn’t matter now Naina, what’s done is done! Your explanation wouldn’t change the fact that I walked away from my own success party so just save it." He carried the briefcase in his hand as he walked over to the front door.

"Gaurav...Wait!..at least have breakfast before you leave." His hand reached for the doorknob.

"It's fine, I'll have it in the cafeteria.." Well my apology didn’t work and Gaurav still held me against it.

"Wow! Someone's in a hurry" I saw Kiran standing outside the door with the hand outstretched to ring up the doorbell, Gaurav without a friendly greet walked past her and I knew Kiran would figure out something's happened between us.

"Or maybe..Just in a bad mood I guess." she was puzzled as she eyed me and I gestured her to come in while Gaurav got into his car to leave for work.

"What happened? You guys had a fight or Something?" Kiran followed me to the kitchen as she handed me the two packets of milk.

"It’s kind of complicated than that." I made a helpless face and she chuckled slightly.

"Yeah I bet...I could make out from Gaurav's as usual stinky face." I rolled my eyes at her and poured the milk into the kettle.

"It’s not funny Kiran..You know how he is...It’s frustrating sometimes to make him understand." I then boiled the kettle above the stove.

"Oh please! Don’t tell me you guys had a fight over dancing the bare-butt rhumba?" I looked at her in shock.
