Chapter 2: I'm On A Date With Liam Payne

I ran my gel-covered fingers through my hair. I checked my face multiple times to check for anything gross. I checked myself out one last time, and left the bathroom. I went to my room and grabbed my phone, wallet, and car keys. I left the room and trotted down the stairs. I checked the time and realised that I still had half an hour before my date. I grabbed a water from the fridge and walked into the living room. I sat down on the couch joining the other lads watching television. Their attention turned to me. They looked at me as if I had a toe on my forehead. 

  "What?" I questioned.

"Why are you so dressed up mate?"  Niall asked. 

"What? I can't be dressed up? And this isn't even dressed up. It's casual" I pointed out. I know that if I mentioned my date, then they would tease. "Well, it's a Friday and our day off.  Wouldn't you dress in comfy clothes?" Zayn asked. Considering, everyone but me were dressed up in sweats, and a stained t-shirt I would understand them being confused. I blinked once and tried to block off their intense stares.

I looked at the clock.

I'll leave in 20.

I imagined seeing the beautiful face of Cassandra. If all goes well, maybe we'll have our first kiss. There's just something about her mysteriousness that is attractive. But also, there was something about her that seems familiar. I just can't put my finger on it. But I'm pretty sure I would remember someone as beautiful as her...

 "I know that look! You're thinking about someone..." Harry said. I looked at him

"A girl. You're thinking about a girl, which means you're going on a date." Harry figured.  Before I could have a response Louis broke out in a sing-song voice.

"AWWW. LIAM LIKES A GIRL! AND SHE LIKES HIM BACK!" He sung. "That's a miracle." He muttered loudly for me to hear on purpose. "Hey!" I protested, and threw a pillow at his face. He chuckled. "So, there's a girl, eh?" Niall asked. I nodded. "What's her name?" Harry asked. "Cassandra." I answered.

"CASSANDRA AND LIAM SITTING IN A TREE. K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Louis went off again. I rolled my eyes. "Very mature for a 20 year old." I said. "Twenteen." 

He pointed out. 

I got up. "Well, I'm gonna go now." I said. "Bye lads."

 "Good luck mate" Niall said and I left.

I waited in the main entrance of the theatre, waiting for Cassandra. A car pulled up in front of me. Cassandra came out of the passenger seat. "Thanks Jess" she said and the Black Honda Accord left. "Hey love" I smiled. "Hey!" she happily said. I opened my arms for a hug. She wrapped her arms around my neck on her tippy toes. I lifted her up a bit. She's so petite. It's cute. I wrapped one arm around her waist and we walked into the theatre. I could feel my heart beating.

Her beautiful blonde curly hair was left down, with a grey beanie on her head.  She wore a grey v-neck and blue jeans with grey converse. She's just so cute. "I hope you're up for a horror movie." I said as I handed the cashier money for tickets. "I guess, but I'm just a bit of a scardy cat when it comes to those." she warned. I smirked "Good."

"Good?"

"Yeah. So when you get scared I can comfort you... Like this." I said as I stood behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. I saw a shade of pink crawl onto her cheeks. I smiled victoriously. I could feel my heart racing. With my arms around her, it just feels so right.

We walked into the dark theatre with a tub of popcorn.  We sat down in the back of the theatre, and Cassandra took out her phone and began texting someone. I stared at her. She's just so beautiful, and highly attractive. She looked at me. "Oh I'm sorry. Am I being rude?" she asked worriedly. I chuckled. "No not at all."

"Sorry, I just had to answer my best friend on an important question." she said. The theatre lights all turned off and the movie began to play.

I was so transed to the movie, and so was Cassandra. Without looking I went for some popcorn in the tub that we were sharing. She went for some too, and just like that our hands touched. I could feel sparks and electricity flowing up my arm and to my heart. I looked at her, and she looked at me.  Our eyes met. I inched closer to her and she leaned forward. I could feel our lips getting closer and closer. Just before they were about to touch, her closed eyes opened as if she went into some reality check. She cleared her throat. "Um..m-maybe we should pay attention to the movie" she muttered and leaned away from me.

My cheeks turned bright red. I seriously just got rejected.. This is humiliating. Ugh, I'm so stupid. That was the most embarrassing thing. But...why didn't she want to kiss me?

Is something wrong with me?

Is she just afraid to fall in love?

Is it my breath?

Why?

A hurricane of questions swirled in my head. Deep inside of me I could feel my heart cracking just a bit. I put that behind me and focused on the movie.

I had just dropped off Cassandra back home. "Bye babe." I said. "Bye.." she quietly said with a smile. It was awkward. Something's wrong. 

"Is everything okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. Everything's fine" she assured. "Text me okay? We have to have a second date." she said with a smile. Those words made me smile, yet I still was sad. I kissed her cheek. She turned red and her breath hitched. "Night." she said and went into her house. I sighed and drove back home. There's a lot I still need to figure out about her to make this work out, because I really want this to work out
