I have a childhood friend, her name is Megan. We've known each other since we were 10 years old.

Well, if you think that we have a good relationship, you are absolutely wrong. She is the only girl I want to beat the most.

In other words, we are rivals. We always compete in everything.

And by everything I mean, I mean every single thing, such as our test score, sports, and even for the empty seats. We competed in everything, but she's still my "best" friend.

At first, we only competed at school, but it wasn't enough.

Then we started to duel in weird - things

Like eating battle, brushing teeth race, and so on.

I'm glad that she's been here for the past years.

Now, we are in our last year of high school and we are still competing

One day, Megan and I were hanging out in a café with our friends.

I finally arrived and immediately opened the door.

"Sorry, but you are late. I win this time."

That voice

The one who always says that to me is only Megan.

"You remember our deal, right?"

"Yeah yeah, I will buy you coffee." I irritably said.

Our friends could only shake their head seeing us.

Then, I sat on the chair.

"Hey, our competitions are getting boring lately, don't you think?" Megan asked.

"Now you mention it. It becomes monotone"

We've been constantly competing for seven years, and of course we could be run out of ideas.

At that time, one of my friends spoke.

Well, he'd just given an odd joke.

It was about why did not we, Megan and I, became a couple and whoever fell in love first, will be the loser.

We soon laughed after hearing that idea.

Then we stared at each other, and continued laughing.

After a while, our friends left.

Now... it's only me and her.

We looked at each other intensely.

"Challenge accepted!" we said.

We made some agreements listed in a piece of paper.

These are the agreements:

1. We do things like a couple does.

2. We text each other daily like a couple.

3. We call each other with nicknames like a couple.

4. At weekends, we go on a date like a couple.

5. The last is, every night before we sleep the one who ends the conversation has to say good night, sleep tight, and I love you.

6. Additional rules will be added later.

We decided some other things too.

I knew it's disgusting, but we had agreed on so I wouldn't lose.

"So, what's the punishment for the loser?" I asked her.

"How about, the one who loses must do anything that the winner ask for one time." she replied.

"No problem, I'll win anyway!"

"Keep talking while you can."

Then we shook each other hand.

After that we went home.
