Angela's POV
July 4th, 1996
UCLA Fourth of July Hip-Hop Bash
"Angela! Angela! Angela!" The crowd cheered my name.
The backstage manager, Candace, handed me a mic and I began walking towards the stage.
"How's everybody doin' tonight?!" I said into the mic as I walked up on the UCLA stage.
The crowd went crazy.
"I said how's everybody doin' tonight!!"
They screamed wilder than before.
"Alright well let's get this party started. C'mon DJ Roc!" I said. My male dancers, Keith and Ron, came on stage and stood behind me on each side of me and began swaying slowly from side to side as I did the same.
The beat dropped to my most popular song off of my old, first album which was Back & Forth and the fans went crazy.
"Y'all remember this song?" I said swaying with my dancers. They screamed back indicating me that they did.
"Alright well then let's rock."
1 hour later...
"Thank you so much UCLA for having me! Give it up for my dancers, my band, DJ Roc and most importantly, yourselves! Have a great rest of your night!" I waved as I walked off the stage. I was sweaty and a little musty but it was a great show so I don't mind.
"Great show, Angie!" My manager, Heather told me handing me a towel and water bottle as we walked back to my bus with security.
"Thanks Heather. It was a great crowd so it made it easy." I said.
We got onto the bus and I saw my best friend who I haven't seen in months, Rhonda, on the couch.
I screamed loudly, "Oh my god!!!!!! Rhonda!" I squealed running over to her and hugged her regaining the energy I lost while performing.
"Hey girl!!" She said pulling away and looking at me.
"I missed you so much, Rhonda! Where have you been?" I asked her as we both sat down on the couch. My crew all left and security stayed outside the bus leaving her and I in privacy.
"I've been here! Girl this is my school!" She said.
"Are you serious? Oh my gosh I didn't even know you enrolled back into school!" I smiled nudging her shoulder. She laughed.
"I know! I mean you've been out here bein' a superstar and stuff I couldn't even keep in contact with you."
My smile weakened, "I'm sorry, Rhonda.. It's just you know with the tour and my new album.. Things got a little hectic. But I promise that I'm gonna make more time for my best friend, aight?" I promised her.
She looked at me in my eyes cracking a smile, "You better."
I hugged her once more, "You wanna come back to the hotel with me tonight? We can have a girls night in and watch re-runs of Good Times. Oh yeah, I think a new episode of Sister, Sister comes on too." I said.
