I'm not sure it was such a good idea to go out this late, but as long as I'm with him, he'll be okay.... But I still don't know where on earth he's taking me, or why we have to walk. "Eh, Sakyo-"
"Don't ask any questions." I raise an eyebrow but make no argument against it.
'Does this have something to do with the angel thing? I could've sworn he was okay with it.... He said so himself. I wonder what's going on?' I sigh, quietly so Sakyo doesn't notice. 'It's dark out, there's no moon, and he had the idea to go on a walk. It's like 3' o clock in the morning!'
He also seemed rather irked when he woke me.
"Hey, wake up." I look to Sakyo, tensing up when I see his angered expressing.
"Is everything alright?"
"Come with me." He brushes past the couch and goes out the door.
"Ah!" I get up and follow him, when I reach his side I ask. "What's up with you? It's the middle of the night." He doesn't reply, instead he shoots me a look.
"Be quiet."
'Wha? He's being a bit pushy... What did I do wrong?'
"You do realize Witari-" He shoots me a look. "We shouldn't-"
Another look. "Witari could attack and-"
"Shut up!" He snaps.
I huff and stop in my tracks. "I'm not going to follow you any longer until you tell me where you're going!" He glares at me and I return the favor, then he advances. "Wh... Ugh!" I chase after him. "Please tell me where we're go-"
"No. Now be quiet."
I huff again.
He drags me through a familiar looking gate, and as I squint at the shadows I realize we're in the graveyards. 'What on earth? Why did he drag me here?' Sakyo leads me in a bit deeper before he lets go of my wrist, pushes me forward, then sits on a rock with his eyes shut and arms crossed. I tilt my head and asks. "Sakyo, what did you take me out here for?"
"Shh." I sigh, sitting on the ground. I look to my left and see that I'm near my grave, then my injuries and wings appear, and I have to cover my eye to keep the blood from pouring out.
"Mmmm!...." I whine. I look to Sakyo. "How long do we have to stay here?" He glances up, shakes his head and looks back down.
I get up and sit next to the rock, leaning against it. As Sakyo pats my head, I look at Mom's grave, seeing someone sitting on it in the dark. "Mom....." I mumble.
"Hmm?" I look down as Sakyo looks around. "I- Oh....." He pats my head again. I look to him and ask.
"Why did you bring me here? And don't tell me to shut up."
"I just did as she told me to."
"Amaterasu?" He nods. "Oh, okay......"
"Is this who you were sent to protect?" I smile as Sakyo flinches.
"Yes ma'am. His name is Sakyo Kurayami." I look to her as she sits next to me, but Sakyo's lost track of her.
"He seems..... Nice."
"He is." I say, then whisper. "He's a bit of a loose canon, but other than that, he's alright." She snickers but after a moment she sighs.
"If only it weren't so dark, then we'd be able to see each other."
"Yeah..."
"You should get some sleep." She kisses my forehead. "Stay safe."
"I will. See you later, Mom." When she disappears, I lean back against the rock and sigh.
(Sakyo) I turn the corner before he lands in front of me. "What the heck?!" I turn around and cross the street. "Sakyo!" I hear his footsteps behind me, then he snatches my arm. "Why couldn't you have woken me up?! 'Ah, Takanosuke, I'm going out on another late night walk, come with!', seriously!" I jerk out of his grip and continue my 'late night walk' and he groans.
I glance over my shoulder, smile at him, then break into a run. "What is wrong with you?!" My smile turns into a smirk as I turn the corner and run down the sidewalk. I must admit, I've been giving Takanosuke a hard time.
I thought about what he said four weeks ago (When we were heading to the graveyard), about Witari attacking? Well, I decided to try and lure him out of hiding. If I do, Takanosuke and I can end this. Though he hasn't tried anything for the past four weeks, and I'm hoping tonight he will, because this is annoying Takanosuke to no end. Of course, sometimes I wake him up and tell him where I'm going, and other times I leave without telling, but I must also admit that teasing him like this is fun. 'I'd tell him my plan, but I'm paranoid about Witari, and besides, he'll probably fight better when surprised.... And if I loose track of him, he sure as Hades hasn't lost track of me. He can fly for Pete's sake.' I snap out of my thoughts when I smack into a phone booth. "Ack!" I back up and rub my nose.
"Finally." Takanosuke mutters from behind.
"Who put this here?" I mumble.
I walk out of the bathroom, seeing Takanosuke laying on my bed, fast asleep. I put the towel in the hamper and look back to him. "You finally got tired of sleeping on the couch, eh?" I sigh and climb in next to him, wrapping my arms around and pulling him closer. "I'm still going out on a walk later on."
"You're not going anywhere." Takanosuke half orders half growls, causing me to flinch and look to him, then to my arms, and next I begin to blush and stutter.
"O-Oh my gosh, I-a-I am so, so sorry!"
"It's fine Sakyo..." He sighs tiredly, nuzzling my chest. "Seriously, stay put."
"U-Uh... Alright....." Soon he falls back asleep, but I don't because I'm still pretty embarrassed. I listen closely to the silence, and over our breathing, I can hear my heartbeat, but not his. I raise an eyebrow. Does he even have one?
I guess not.
I screech to a halt and attempt to catch my breath. I hear a bang and look around. "... Takanosuke?" I turn around, then look in the air, seeing he's behind me. Another bang, and Takanosuke shoves me out of the way before I'm hit by a bullet. 'Yes! It finally worked!'
"Long time no see, Sakyo." Witari smirks, but once he looks at Takanosuke it disappears and his eyes widen. "T-Takanosuke?!"
"In the flesh." He retorts. Witari looks at his wings and stutters.
"H-How are y-you here?! I-I killed you!"
"It doesn't matter, what does is that I'm going to put you to justice!" Witari swallows and says.
"That's what you said before, but you didn't!" He raises his pistol and points it at me. "Very well then, I'm going to kill your new friend, then I'm going to kill you!..... Again!" He cackles. "Say goodbye, Sakyo Kurayami!" I close my eyes, knowing Takanosuke can't shove me out of the way again.
I hear a bell toll, wind blowing and then a loud bang.
(A/N): Cliffhanger.
