Ok I'm just going to make a few things clear. High school is nothing like you think it is.
1. There's rumors that you'll see people have sex under the staircases. Not true at all. The worst you'll see is a guy sticking his hand down a girls pants or grabbing a girl's butt. You'll see a lot people making out in the hall.
2. Not everyone sleeps with people. Like 30% of students actually have sex before they're 20. It's still a big percentage, but it's not like they exaggerate on TV.
3. There's a LOT of druggies. They'll try to get you to do them to, no matter who you are. My school has 2 drug busts a year. They'll check cars, lockers, and book bags.
4. You'll never use cursive in high school. I was told that since elementary school, I would use cursive. I have NEVER used cursive since 4th grade and I'm in 9th grade.
5. Suicide is not as known as they make it. At my school, at least one student dies every year. It's usually a freak accident or a car accident.
6. Bullying isn't a HUGE thing. You'll rarely get bullied. If you do, at my school someone always gets their teeth knocked out for it. People are more laid back and keep to themselves.
7. Depending on what classes you have, you will rarely have homework. If you're in advanced, you'll have a lot of homework.
8. Teachers will not be there for you. They could care less about your grades and life. Once I had a huge bruise on my arm and not one of my teachers asked about it. They're suppose to ask just in case there's a child abuse case.
9. There's a lot less drama. I'm not saying there is none, but when there is, no one wants to get involved. They just want to sit back and watch the show.
10. Teachers aren't nice at all. I speak from experience. I was told I'm full of crap and to get the hell out of a teacher's class before. It was by the same teacher.
11. There's not as many pregnant people as you're told. I've only heard of one person who got pregnant.
12. Hallways aren't as crowded as people exaggerate. I only deal with trouble getting through the halls when people are walking as slow as possible.
13. There's always going to be a boy/girl that likes you whether you know it or not. Most people are shy to tell.
14. Students are super funny. Idk if it's just a phase, but I can't go a day without laughing because people have such good sense of humor.
15. Kids talk back to teachers all the time. Like every day.
16. You won't get into much trouble for a lot of things. The only things that you get in trouble for is: getting caught with drugs, bringing weapons to school, falsely pulling the fire alarm, and getting in a fist fight. The fire alarm gets falsely pulled once a week at my school, sometimes every day a week.
17. There's always a super boring teacher with a bad sense of humor. Mine is my language art assistant teacher.
18. Food is absolutely disgusting. Hard, cold, greasy, old, dry. Just about everything negative.
19. People don't skip school as much as you think. It rarely happens.
20. The timing is terrible. Some schools are different, but I have to get to the bus at 6:45 and school ends at 3:25.
21. Kids rarely fall asleep in class. It happens, but not too often, because teachers kick your desk when you do.
22. Teachers don't have sex with kids. You hear it on the news, movies, and books, but it doesn't happen as often as you think.
23. Teachers aren't attractive. You hear about 'the sexy math teacher', but that's only in your dreams. They're all old and ugly.
24. You won't stay with your group of friends throughout high school. Never happens unless you just so happen to have classes together every year.
25. Freshman can never keep relationships. They're stupid and don't know what love is.
26. Kids have so much anxiety. Most kids in my school are stressed about everything. We had a class conversation in one of my classes and everyone was scared they'd get shot or killed while young.
27. Teen pregnancy isn't cute. You'll be called names and the rest of your life will suck. You'll struggle with finances and getting into college. You won't even be successful at finding a good job.
28. You'll hear the f-bomb all the time. Get use to it.
29. You're never going to get the quarter back. Sorry.
30. Guess what!! Freshman year is the last year you'll run the mile and be recorded!.... Unless you fail it.
31. Girls cry a lot more. They're more stressed and emotional as they get older.
32. Just because you play a sport, it doesn't make you attractive. It's how well you play.
33. Most kids want to go to college, but don't have a plan. They won't make it.
34. Teachers don't focus on your dream career as much as you think. They don't focus on it at all until you're a Senior.
