7 wolves stood next to they're masters, each listening to the conversation carefully. 5 wolves listened as well, knowing a new bunch of students were coming to Hogwarts, each one thinking a student could be they're master.

Albus Dumbledore, the head master, glanced at the letter that had not been opened yet. It was specifically told not to be opened until all wolves got they're masters.

He knew he had to wait. But even one of the most patient, kind old wizard wanted to open the letter, wanting to know why the wolves were sent here, and by who. But even if someone got ten feet of the letter, a wolf would snap at them and growl. Even if they were its master.

Crystal, Minerva's McGonagall's wolf, sat besides her master. She watched Snape as he talked about the new students coming and wanting another spot in teaching. The wolf sighed through her nostrils before resting her head on Minerva's hand and looking up at her. Minerva stroked her head softly. Crystal was a secretive wolf, but didn't keep anything from her master. She shared lots with her. She was a smart wolf and was wise.

Night, Severus Snape's wolf, laid at Severus's feet. He was almost asleep when Severus moved his feet a little, kicking Night. Night grumbled and moved out of the way of his feet. Night was a mostly grumpy wolf. He was black as night and slept a lot while Severus taught the students. But besides him being lazy, he was very protective of his master.

Scar, Alastor "mad eye" Moody's wolf, was standing next to Alastor. Alastor scratched his head as they both listened. Scar enjoyed the attention. Once in awhile, his foot thumped on the ground from liking the attention. Scar was a older wolf with one eye, like his master. He was a fun wolf to be around and loved to tell stories about back then.

Princess, Dolores Umbridge's wolf, stuck her nose in the air at the other wolves. Dolores sipped her tea and praised her wolf for being so mannered. Princess was a wolf who got annoyed easy. She didn't like fighting, she hated it. Get on her bad side, and you would regret it. She was not strong, but she would chew you out to the point you would almost cry.

Silk, Remus Lupin's wolf, sat beside his master calmly. He was calm and quiet sometimes and only spoke to his master mostly. He would come in contact with everyone but wouldn't speak. If in difficult situations, he used his brains to get him out instead of fighting. His fur was silky, which earn him his name. He was quick on his feet and very smart.

CoCo, Rubeus Hagrid's wolf, wagged his tail slightly as he sat beside his master. He was a happy and energetic wolf. Always talking to the others, even if they weren't listening. Him and his master loved to have conversations. He loved to hop around and play with some of the wolves, except for Princess, who gave him a good lesson on why he shouldn't get mud on her.

And last, Gray, Albus Dumbledore's wolf, was seated next to his master. He listened closely to what the others had to say so he could help his master get it done. He was a kind, smart and gentle wolf. He treated all the wolves with love and tried to use violence as a last resort.

Then, there are the five remaining wolves. They had no master. Yet. They were very patient while waiting, knowing they're masters would come. They were preparing to protect them from anything, at any cost. They were going to be loyal.

Soon, everyone left to prepare for the next day, when all the new students would come.

As CoCo walked next to Hagrid, he thought about the night when they had to put Harry Potter on the step of the muggles door. CoCo was just a pup then, but he remembered it. He remembered Hagrid crying a little and McGonagall even looking at him sadly. Even Dumbledore was a little sad. But he knew Harry would grow up strong like his father, and smart like his mother.

Crystal thought about that moment as well. She was also a pup, but a little older than CoCo. She remembered the pain in her master eyes and how she attempted to comfort her at that moment.

Gray was thinking back at the moment. He was almost a year old at the time. He remembered putting Harry carefully on the step in a small basket. He remembered staring down into his eyes that his mother once had. He remembered the small Potter giggling at him.

One thought swirled through the minds of the three wolves.
