Molly carefully walked along the long red carpet. Dressed in a prestined white dress her bare toes were tickled by the scarlet fabric underfoot. In her arms she carefully carried the dozens of lilies; her grandmothers favourite flower. Large tears welled in her eyes before they would fall freely down Molly's cheeks. The realization had hit her. This would be her final goodbye to her grandmother, Anastasia.
The mourning girl sniffled as she placed the lillies on top of the wooden coffin, lying the flower next to a picture of Anastasia. The picture showed her grandmother when she was still young and very beautiful, wearing a bright smile full of life and mirth. Molly stared at the picture and traced her finger along the ornate frame. She found herself lost in thoughts not of the brooding misery she expected, but a bittersweet sense of completion.
Before her emotions got carried away, Molly turned around and walked back down the long red carpet. Even though it was a funeral for someone she loved dearly, she couldn't help but smile at her grandmothers quirky requests and requirements.
Her grandmother never wanted a traditional funeral service. The stubborn woman had wanted one that reflected herself distinctly; something people would talk about for years. She had insisted on a red carpet like the one at the Oscars, because she believed she was 'famous enough' to deserve one. She wanted everyone to wear no shoes, because she longed for the 70's where hippies were at their prime. She had also wanted Molly to read a speech which Anastasia had written herself. The speech was filled with lot's of quirky, sarcastic and hilarious things. For instance, Anastasia had written a whole paragraph about reincarnation and how she was going to be reincarnated in her next life.
Out of everything Molly's favourite part of the funeral was the fact that everyone had to dress in white. Anastasia had strongly proclaimed and believed that everyone who turned up at her funeral service would be angels. You couldn't dress an angel in black now could you? It just didn't fit the criteria.
Molly walked to the back of service and sat in one of the vacant chairs. Even though she was one of the main guests, the seats at the front were taken by all her grandmothers friends who couldn't hear or see very well. Thoughtfully, she sat at the back as her young eyes and ears could probably see and hear much better than her grandmothers older friends.
Nevertheless, Molly couldn't help but smile with the amount of guests who showed up at the funeral. Every guest was their except for a whole row of chairs at the back of the service. The presence of those seats drastically sent Molly's mood spiraling down farther then they were already. They were the ones reserved for the Styles- Cox family.
As Molly's grandfather slowly made his way to the stand, she couldn't help but replay the events which had occured in the previous night in her head.
The lies and betrayal which had occured all those many years ago were resurfaced all within a few minutes of sitting with her grandfather. Molly couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards the Styles-Cox family. There was also that mountain of guilt which was slowly eating her alive. After the stories which she had been told truly settled in her mind, Molly came to a conclusion.
She would fix her later ancestors mistakes by repaying herself. Better late the never, but... ...there was just one thing. How was she going to be able to repay the other family? A rather scandalous and damaging situation that was completely jaded, it ruined the Styles-cox family and their lives and reputation. Something that would knock a family off it's feet for years.
