Chapter 2

I wake up to see doctors and nurses all surrounding me and talking to each other. "I don't think she is going to make it." "Oh, I know she won't make it were just watching her because we have to watch 15 and under until they are dead , and she is about to die." One man turns to face me an says "Doctor, I think she is waking up!" "No, don't be silly Robert most patients have their eyes open when they are asleep." I open my mouth to say something but nothing but a moan comes out. "I told you!!!" Robert exclaims. The doctor rushes over to see if I'm awake, he realizes that I am awake.

Then he calls in my mom and dad and my mom starts crying and asking me a whole bunch of questions like "Are you ok?" "Are you cold?" and "Do you need a blanket or a drink, ANYTHING?" I try to speak and the only thing that comes out is "Where is Decker?" Mom calls in Decker and her plus dad leave the room so It's just me and decker now. Decker leans over the bed and starts crying, "Whats wrong Decker?" I ask him. he mumbles "I broke your ribs." I tell him It's ok. Then he says, "I'm so happy you're ok but when I was trying to save you," he starts sobbing again "When I was trying to save you, I was performing CPR and i broke your ribs. I'm so sorry Delaney. When I left you on the ice, that was my biggest mistake ever and immediately when the ice started to crack I sprinted after you, Tara and Carson held me back but I got loose and came running. Tara and Carson helped me get you out of the water by tying me to the end of a top and I jumped into the water to get you. It had been 11 minutes when I finally got you out of the water, and thats when I started performing CPR. It was only a few minutes before the ambulance came because Tara had called while I was in the water trying to find you." "It's ok, you saved my life." I just keep thinking about how his lips touched mine, and I reach up to touch my mouth. I put my hand back down.
