Kirstie POV

Man what the heck? I swear I was never going to get this right. It just didn't seem like the struggle would ever come to an end.

To start off, it's such a complicated rhythm and changes every beat . But my friends still want me to enter the dance competition, though they know damn well I'm not that good of a dancer.

Sitting on the floor alone, scatter beats of sweat on my forehead I stare myself in the big mirror, which replaced where a wall would normally be.

I slowly wiped the sweat off my forehead, I sigh, going into a butterfly stretch. I close my eyes and breathe at a steady pace.

As I am almost fully relax, the door swings open. I quickly lift my head up to see a kid I know that goes to our school enter. His name doesn't quiet click as I looked at him wide eyed causing him to snatch out his earphones.

"Sorry, did I startle you?" He asked his eyebrows raised looking at me. I shook my head and checked the time on my phone.

"It's 1am," I say going back into my stretch.

"Only time I have to come here. My half time job ends at midnight and I work every other night which is when I decide to go, other nights I work another." He says, quickly analyzing the information out loud.

"Hmm." I hum quietly admiring him as he finishes his trip across the large room setting his bag down.

Going into a simple straddle stretch, I watch him in the mirror as he plugs back into his music and slowly starts to stretch. I blush quickly putting my head down, because I think he saw me looking.

Crap, what is his name????

Leaning to the other side I look up at him again, as if I had never seen before. In fact I have, but never for this long. Ever. He was just one of those guys whom you've known, but you didn't actually... know.

Still in straddle position, I stretch towards the middle. My stomach completely touching the floor. I stay like this for a while, long enough to realize there is no movement whatsoever.

I look up to see the guy looking at me amazement, mouth agape and all. I gave him questioning look.

"I'm sorry about... that but, you must be an amazing dancer." He commented with a slight tint of rose forming on his cheeks, his voice echoing greatly with the last words.

I stand up and look at myself for the billionth time in the mirror. "Nah, I'm just super flexible. I'm not a very good dancer." I answer back.

"Are you sure? I can I judge for myself?" He smiled at me, almost in a flirtatious manner but I brush it off.

Finally, I turn around to look at him, from across the studio. Even from far away he clearly towered over me, at least over 6'. Nice blonde hair, natural, but mine was dyed and lighter.

"Can I have the name of the judge before I continue?" Stepping futher away from the mirror.

"Scott," he bowed. I let a giggle before nodding.

"Alright. Also, I'm Kirstin. But call me Kirstie." I say before taking a starting stance before I began to dance.

I dance my own little dance that I've always done. Something I'm very comfortable with, something that I don't have to think about.

As this special dance ends, I land gracefully as possible into a lunge.

He claps, filling the whole room quickly. I turn to him as he has a smug look on his face. "Hey, that wasn't bad. At all. Literally, at all." He laughs.

"Thanks, but that's pretty much because I made and know that dance by heart. The ones I have to learn, oh do I look like an amateur."

"Kirstie by what I just saw I can't imagine anything that would look bad with you doing it.." Scott said awkwardly clearly not thinking about he just said.

"Thanks. Also-- do think you can help me with this dance? It's suppose to be 3 duets all at once?" I said, obviously desperate for help.

"Depends. What type."

"Salsa?" I say giving an awkward grin. He thinks about it, biting his lip.

"I mean I've done Salsa but it's definitely not the easiest thing, and I don't want to mess you up or anything--"

"Scott I know we basically just met even though we've seen each other around for years--help me." I interrupt quickly, as if I was in some hurry.

He looks at me still so unsure. But still be takes out his phone and places in his bag. Scott walks up to me in such a slow motion, probably debating as he makes his way over to me.

I was quickly getting impatient. Thought I had no where to be at this time of night, expect at my apartment, I still wanted to hurry.

I took both of his hands quickly, walking him to where I would like him to stand. After I place him in the right place and position, I purposely just stood there and admired him, again.

I then go over to where I have my things and stand near the little boombox which contained the track inside.

"Ok, so you are just going to make your way over to me on every eighth beat. Then you are going to put your hands here," I put my hands right on my hips. "And then I'm going to swing my hips twice, then we step to the opposite side of one another, hands joined. And then after that I'll do everything... And OH! You have a simple one-two-three step, left right left, then you alternate, with hip rotation after I do everything. That's all I remember right now.." I say out breath as I was quickly showing him what to do.

He nodded meaningfully before he again took his stance.

I lean over and press the play button.

He does eighth beat steps flawlessly, quickly amazing me. Right on time he places my hands on hips, as I slowly rotate them twice.

"Step out, one-two-three step." I say, he quickly catches on. I drop down, never letting my hands go of his.

"Uhhh, double spin here." I say, letting him spin me. Our hands extended, I twirl in perfectly into his grasp, causing a stupid ass grin to form on my face. I couldn't help it.

The back of me pressed against him we moved in rhythm, but we didnt stop for a while because I forgot what came after.

"Shit," I mutter, as we still danced.

"Forgot it??" He said, in a sympathetic voice, it wasn't so low but low enough to cause chills to run down my spine.

I nodded, but we just... continued for some reason.

"I...I like this, though." I say under my breath. He chuckled and spinned me out again.

But left me out and made us meet face to face... well not necessarily.

"Uhh me too." Scott says nervously. "I know we just met but I have the sudden urge to kiss you.."

"So? Do it."
