Astrid knew she couldn't stay with Mary for long, but was surprised when she had to get up the next morning to leave for the camp. More surprising, was how well her wounds were doing, she felt no pain where here wounds were.

Two different guards lead her handcuffed outside. From the outside, she can see the army camp raising out of the hills only a few miles away.

She noticed a few nobles outside, some calling for others to join the spectacle of watching her climb to the army camp.

Herrmates came rushing out and forms around her. Some yelling, others cussing her. A few even spat at her feet, while the children laughed and cheered.

All Astrid could think was that she could not allow them to see her weak. She kept her head held high, and walked with a steady, confident pace.

When she got to the army camp at the top of the hill, all she could see was tents stretching for miles, seemingly endless. That's when the soldiers came out. They cheered louder, making loud, crude remarks.

"Look at her, a Azar!" Someone remarked. "She probably can't even control wind, the mutt".

It's true she couldn't control the elements. Supposedly, she should be able to unless her shifter side is too dominate. She didn't know who her real father is, but she imagines he shifts into a wolf, like herself.

The air element was said to be the easiest to control. Each Herrmate had a little control over each element, but usually only had significant power in one element; earth, wind, fire, or air. Once, each family had a single element. The lineage continues on to the Royal Houses, and they continue to try to keep their blood pure. My brother's father was a prominent fire house, Azar.

Needless to say, throughout time blood lines mixed and powers were diluted. Some got new unique powers, and others still have old powers from the dragon blood itself, or so they say. Mary, for example, is a healer Herrmate, one of the most respected powers in the realm. There are other rarities, some are probably myths, legends from long ago.

Her guards shove her forward towards the crowd. She walked straight as her guards lead her to a tent. "She's here Captain" one of her guards said.

Astrid stood still as Brown Eyes turned to face her.
