Apathetic.
Ap•athetic;
1. Showing or feeling no interest, enthusiasm, or concern.

Ares understood me. I begged and pleaded for him to let me see Aphrodite. He caved in and after the final school bell rang, he lead the way.

His jaw stayed clenched constantly. His eyes were bloodshot and he seemed exhausted.

"Don't play around with her. She doesn't want company, you'll be lucky if she notices you." He sighed and once we reached his home, a dark blue house.

He took me to her room.

Ares was very protective. He opened her door after knocking but the house seemed dead.

No life, No enthusiasm just blank walls and crickets outside.

When he opened the door, I tried to walk in but he placed his hands on my chest.

"Talk to her and then you leave, okay?" He muttered not meeting my eyes. I nodded as he let me go.

Walking into her cold room, I sat by the girl. She flinched lightly but remained apathetic.

She did not glance at me. Her breathing slowed down but other than that she seemed emotionless.

"How have you been?" I asked staring at the side of her face. Her body shook lightly.

"I tried. I tried to help my baby. I lost him. I had to get surgery to get the fetus removed." She chuckled heartlessly before her teary eyes pierced into my soul.

Her cold hands gripped mine. "I wanted to be strong. The doctors put me on antidepressants though. They make me want to jump off of a Bridge." Shaking hands and shaking voice.

Her beautiful blue eyes looked so grey.

"They told me I killed my child, but he beat me. I never knew I could feel so dead. When I read your note, it reminded me of how Nathaniel used to be." She sobbed and continued to choke out words.

Bullets of pain forced their way into my chest. Her warm tears fell over our hands as she leaned in and kissed my cheek.

Chapped lips, Shaking body, Trembling voice. She lost everything.

"I'm sorry for ranting. I usually just tell people I'm fine. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you for checking up on me." Were her last words to me.

I could've saved her.
