Spock looked at Kirk in an unsure way, raising a brow. Kirk cocked his head in turn, because with Spock, just raising an eyebrow could mean a mass of different thoughts and emotions. "Jim? I do not believe I understand why it is necessary to be dressed like this." Spock mumbled, motioning to their outfits. Jim thought it was genius, obviously, judging by the grin on his face.
Kirk had planned it out for an entire two months. He went over all of the plans and puns, laughing as he went. He always celebrated Halloween, never really growing out of it. It was all too fun to give up. So, he dressed himself up as a slice of peanut butter covered bread. It was an amazing idea, one of those rare moments of brilliance and hilarity that Kirk came up with in the middle of the night.
Spock saw his boyfriend lounging on the sofa, dressed oddly and had to consult the calendar for answers to the strange behavior. When he returned he wasted no time in falling for the trap Jim had set by asking...
"Are you... covered in peanut butter?"
"Yeah, you jelly?" Kirk responded, snorting and giggling instantly at the wordplay. It didn't take long for Kirk to settle down though, smiling proudly as he handed the Vulcan his own costume. Spock examined it and slowly tugged it on over his uniform. "I believe I am... Jelly." He murmured, looking so utterly confused that it worried the blonde.
"We're going out trick or treating." Jim announced giddily. "But... Is that not for children?" Spock questioned quietly, feeling quite silly dressed as food. "Of course not, it's for everybody and it's awesome. " Kirk answered, ushering Spock outside and beginning to walk with him to a few houses.
Of course, some people didn't want to give grown men candy bars, but Kirk just scribbled those addresses on a piece of paper, planning on egging them later. Spock also made a list of the addresses so he wouldn't forget to ban Jim from giving the residents any visits.
Most people did give them candy just in the spirit of Halloween, and because the costumes made them laugh, which made Kirk ecstatic just because he wasn't expecting much. Spock chewed on a piece of sugar-free licorice as Kirk decided to shove a few handfuls of random chocolate into his mouth, storing them like a chipmunk.
Spock let out a quiet laugh, which caught Jim's attention instantly. 'Oh my gosh, you're giggling. This is great! I've never heard you laugh before!' Jim shared through their mind-meld, sure if he actually spoke, it would come out garbled and untranslatable. Spock nodded and pulled Jim into a hug, as a way of thanking him for the fun.
Kirk, however, could only stay quiet for a few moments before bursting out into a fit of laughter when he finished the chocolate. "Oh my gosh, Spock, we're a complete sandwich!" He cheered, hugging the Vulcan tightly. "We're a peanut butter, jelly, and T'hy'la sandwich." He added with a grin. Spock decided to pipe up, smiling softly. "With extra cheese."
