"Hi mam can we get a booth for two please?" Ace politely said to the greeting lady, who smiled and guided us to our table. We sat down in silence. Ace picked up a menu.
"Have you been here before?" I asked.
"What's it to you." he snapped.
"Ok, look Mr! I don't like the way you talk to me, don't you have any manners!"
Ace looked down as if in shame. "I'm sorry, I'm just not that much of a people person."
"Then why am I here?"
His head shot up, then narrowed his eyes. They grew soft and understanding.
"Because I think you're not one either."
