Humans always believed that there was nothing before the Big Bang. They were wrong.
Carina
There was a mixed crowd of humans and Deviann. I see Clara amongst them and jog towards her.
"Hey Clara, how did you get out of the computer room?" I ask, confused. Before, there were two races living in harmony. The humans, and the red skinned, humanoid aliens that were the Deviann.
Ember
I look at Carina.
"What computer room?" I say, "Who's Clara? Carina, what's wrong?"
She stares at me blankly.
"Carina, it's me. Ember."
Her jaw drops. But then they disappeared. A massive explosion, a blinding light. They were separated into two separate dimensions.
Clara
I see all white, nothing else. My head pounds and my ears ring and I feel nothing.
I reach out my hand, and try to pull myself into a sitting position.
"Dylan? Dylan!"
My eyes start to clear, and I see that all the people who were helping us have left, most likely outside.
Only a blurry figure which I assume is Dylan remains, crouching in the corner.
Have we done it? Have we failed? Did Carina let go?
I stand up, making no my way over to Dylan, and in doing so I cast a reflection in the cracked computer screens. By it is not me.
I scream. And each forgot the other existed. Until now.
