The Projects

Axel went around the room checking its different parts. This room was absolutely opposite of the room he had been in Paris. This was cozy and warm with a large king size bed, a Sony 4K Ultra HD television to which a blu-ray DVD player was connected

SIEVE does look after its members entertainment for sure.

The room was at least a thousand square feet large excluding the bathroom. At one corner of the room was a fridge and an espresso maker, both of top quality.

He slumped onto the bed and took a quick nap.

After 15 minutes he woke up and splashed cold water on his face, reviving his senses. He walked up to the telephone and dialled 1611. He told Eoin he was ready. Eoin in reply told Axel that he was on his way.

After 5 minutes Axel's doorbell rang. Eoin was standing there.

"So now I am going to show you the two most important projects we are working and have worked on here. First I'll take you to the completed project, the particle displacer.", saying this Eoin shuffled off with Axel following him.

After walking for some time they reached a huge room. Inside it was a small closet like case. It was inside a tube filled with a blue substance and the tube itself was connected to number of strange devices. There were four tesla poles in the room, one in every corner.

"This is the particle displacer. It took us 7 years to make this. The closet inside has ultrasonic waves passing through all the time. The outer tube like covering contains plasma, which is ionized gas consisting of positive ions and free electrons. Inside the tube there is a high amount of energy flowing through it and absolute vacuum. This helps in keeping plasma in its state. The devices you see around it have various functions. There are is a smaller version of a particle accelerator here. It uses many number of magnets to increase the velocity of particles, which include positrons from one end and electrons from the other. After a number a revolution they are made to clash with each other at the base of the closet like structure. The almost infinite amount of energy produced is carved using vacuum to form a miniature blackhole right at the foot of the traveller. At the same time on our other base the same process is carried on but with antiprotons and protons. A whitehole is formed there. The body particles of the traveller which are now in quantum space reaches for the nearest exit and our thrown out of the whitehole at Accra. Quite an amazing journey our travellers have told us. You will be experiencing it too when you have to leave for a mission."

Axel just stared at the extraordinary invention in amazement, with his mouth hung open

Eoin laughed "We have had these type of expressions on the faces of our new recruits."

"You sure have one of the brightest minds on the planet to help you work this out. Not 'one of the' but actually 'the' greatest mind on this planet. I would be glad to meet him."

Eoin spoke, "It's actually a 'her' and I have to inform you this that she has been killed recently. She got cancer due to continuous exposure to particle displacement. Yes, particle displacement does have side effects. Her name was Emelia Jones. Quite a gem, she was. She had an IQ of 317! It's a pity she has passed away."

"A pity it is.", replied Axel

"Now, now let's not get emotional over this. Things like this happen day in day out. Now let's get to the bomb we have been working on, the nuclear fission bomb."

Axel replied, surprised by what Eoin had just said, "You are working on nuclear fission bombs?! Wow! Some country is going to be removed from the face of the Earth then."
Eoin started walking again, "I'd like to correct you. It's going to be cities of different countries which are going to be blown up, not a single country. To be specific, the capitals of the permanent members of the UN are going to be bombed; Washington DC capital of USA, London capital of UK, Moscow capital of Russia, Beijing capital of China and Paris capital of France. These series of bombings are surely going to spark the World War III and we can again restart Noir Armes, which I believe you have been told about."

Axel nodded in silence, trying to grasp the gravity of the projects of SIEVE.

They arrived at a room with lead walls. Axel understood they had reached. Eoin handed him an anti-radiation suit , "Wear this, we are going to go in. And by the way, look behind your shoulder; there you will see the programmers of the bomb. Setting the bomb of at the right time is crucial, they are working on that. Let's us go in now."

Eoin punched in a password and pushed open the vacuum sealed room and in they stepped in. It was a huge room, as big as a large sized mall. From the inside it looked all metallic grey with a row of LED lights to light up the room. Placed in rows were 5 huge missiles, out of which two were not yet assembled. There were a number of pipes, wires and digital pads attached to the bombs. 

Eoin spoke, "Due to the delay in the supply of Uranium-235, the assembly had been paused and therefore these two have not been yet assembled. We use uranium in our particle displacer too so quite a lot of uranium is used by us. These two will be assembled within a year and we will launch these bombs within a few months after assembly has been completed. 3 of these bombs have double the amount of Uranium-235 than the Little Boy bomb used during the Hiroshima bombing. The other two are hydrogen bombs like the AN602, better known as the Tsar Bomba, the most powerful bomb 'yet'. These two are for bombing USA and Russia, the main enemies in the Cold War; even though it was USSR, then Russia is in fact the largest country of the USSR. This will ignite the rivalries again and viola, World War III will start."

Axel spoke, "Well any astronaut up in space is going to see a hell of a scene then."

"Oh yes, surely!", replied Eoin, laughing.

"Anyways, how can I get into the programming team? I really think I can contribute a lot. ", Axel inquired.

"Prove your worth in your missions and you might get a chance. Tomorrow you have a meeting with our boss; she always talks to our recruits. I'll take you back to your room; get some rest and be ready for tomorrow.", saying this Eoin led Axel out of the thick lead-walled room and back to his own space.
