"What?" Victoria whispered, her entrancing dark eyes meeting his as she turned towards him.
Brenhin fought the overwhelming urge to seize the sprite-like girl standing before him and to crush his lips down on hers, to ravage her to near madness so that she would nay remember where or when she was, so there would be no further notions of leaving him. Instead, he reached a large, callused hand to her side, tracing the outline of her soft, slight curves, relishing the delightful shiver that resonated through her small body as her eyes grew dark with desire.
"I said I will not allow ye to leave me, my wee goddess," he whispered, a bright fire sparking in his hazel eyes. "I care not what world you hailed from, only that the gods have brought you to me."
Victoria parted her lips, but her words were left unspoken. For outside the tent, screams of terror had broken out.
