Hello spectator; farewell serenity.
I could shout less,
but then you'd just talk over me,
and I need attention.
"I'm just another kid with a guitar,"
and if you're searching for a light,
don't expect me to spark.
I will soon die out,
my voice will give in.
I'll get a real job,
dream of where I've been.
While you're comfortable,
I'll be catching up,
contemplating death
when I've wasted life long enough.
I was seventeen when I invested love
in this make-believe
life turned to cluster-fuck,
but I'm in good company;
I've got that at least,
so I'll make my impression
in hopes you'll remember me.
But if there's light behind the storm,
I'll never halt progression.
I will live past all misfortune
and deplete all adolescence.
Having deep poetic heart,
lacking all poetic fame,
I'll keep clandestine for eternity,
and no one will speak my name.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Damn. This song. I just love it so much. I found this song not too long ago when I was having one of those days were I just let Youtube lead me wherever and so I clicked on this. Granted I was a bit curious about it cause I've seen this song pop up on the suggested list a few times. I'm glad I did. The lyrics are solid and the punk rock feel of it just ties it together. It's more of a slower punk rock though, nothing that really makes you wanna get up and move. To me, the song is more like something I would listen to when I need some back up on a shitty day.
Probably my favorite part of this song:
I could shout less,
but then you'd just talk over me,
and I need attention.
Those times when it seem like no one listens. Yeah. Story. Of. My. Life.
All is good with this song.
