**Lucas' POV**

"Lucas, hurry up and get in the car," Holly yelled through the door. "Even I don't take this long!" Holly is my girlfriend of 3 months.

"Go on out, I'll be there in just a minute," I yell back. It was the night before Halloween and we were about to go to a party that our friend, Asher was throwing for the whole grade. I hear Holly groan and her heels click against the floor as she walks away. I hadn't got to see her costume yet, we were going as zombie pirates. Don't ask, it was her idea.

I look at myself in the mirror after I finish putting on the last press-on tattoo. I looked bad ass to be honest. I twist the knob of the bathroom door and bound down the stairs. I wave a goodbye to my mom and I'm out the door. In the driveway, standing around the car was a group of my friends, Holly, Jasmine, Caleb, and Lilly.

"Nice of you to show up," Holly says. "Let's go already."

"Why don't we just walk? It's only a couple blocks away," Caleb asks, pulling his hand off the handle of the door.

"You want me to walk that far in these shoes," Holly asks. Everybody glances over and only then do I realize that she is wearing high heeled boots that go up to her knees. My eyes graze up at the rest of her costume. She had on ripped fishnet stockings, a short, torn and black and white striped skirt, and a low cut top that was ripped at the stomach.

"Well, that is what I suggested," Caleb says. "I don't want my car getting covered in any of the stuff that's going to be at this party."

Holly mumbled something indecipherable under her breath and we were on our way down the sidewalk. On the way there we were walking past an old park. "Hey, Lilly," Jasmine says. "I bet you won't go into that park and just sit there all by yourself." She lets out a little laugh as Lilly's eyes go a bit wider.

It was dark as pitch outside and there were no street lamps on any of the roads around here. The only reason we knew there was even a park there was because that's where we all used to hang out after school. "W-what," Lilly asks. "W-why would I be afraid? It's just a park."

"I don't know," Holly says. "Maybe because this is how all idiotic horror movies start? You know, the girl gets dared to go into some dark place and stay by herself, she gets murdered or some shit and then everything goes to hell?"

"Holly," Jasmine snaps. "What the hell was that?"

"Just being honest," she mumbles.

"Just shut up already," Lilly snaps. "I'll do it. I'll be out in 5 minutes. I'll just swing on the swing if you need me." She turns on her heel and walks through the gate. Soon enough we can hear the creaking of the chains on the swing.

"I can't believe she actually did it," Jasmine laughs. "She's usually such a pansy." I was about to reply when we all hear a scream coming from inside, sending us all running towards the swings.

When we're there all we see is Lilly, still on the swing, laughing her head off. "And you say I get scared easily," she laughs. "You all are so gullible!" We all start to laugh and walk out of the park and continue down the sidewalk.

"I'm not gullible," I say. "I knew you were just playing a trick. I just wanted to see what everybody else would do."

"Yeah right," Lilly says. "You were leading them all. You looked the most worried out of them all!" My face runs red as everybody lets out loud laughter.

"Oh shut up..." I let out a light laugh and turn my head as we turn a corner. I could see the lights and decorations at Asher's house. We walk the last stretch and as we walk we are already moving past car after car of people who have arrived at the party already.

We walk through Asher's yard and towards the front door and I think Caleb nearly pissed his pants as one of the props in his yard jumped up right in front of him. The music was thundering and you could hear it from the sidewalk outside.

Holly lets the door swing open and I see just what I had gotten myself into. While it was a fairly large house, I went to a huge school, so there were easily 200 people at this party. There was a fog machine that made the fog so thick that you could hardly see 5 feet in front of your own face.

"I'm going to get something to drink," Jasmine says. She walks off through the fog, Lilly and Caleb in tow. I look over at Holly who was already bouncing to the music. I had never been one for parties, but I knew that Holly loved them, so I agreed to go.

I stand in the corner near the door while Holly goes off and dances around the foggy room. I couldn't see her, but I know she was having fun. I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone. I scroll through the random apps and games I have, just mindlessly tapping away for what seemed like quite a long time, although when I checked it had only been 3 minutes.

Damn, I hate parties, I thought, sliding my phone back into my pocket. After several more minutes of leaning against the tight corner I see a figure emerge from the fog. Holly. "Come on, Lucas," she yells over the loud music. "Come on and dance!" She held a cup in her hand and she swayed slightly as she bounced to the beat.

Of course she'd be drinking, great, now I'll have to explain to my mom why I'm bringing my underage girlfriend home drunk. She moves closer to me and runs her hands down my arms. "Why do you think I brought you here, Lucas," she smirks. "Loosen up, have some fun." She pulls me away from the wall and through the fog, into a herd of people.

I bounce to the music and she dances herself away. As she dances she moves closer to me and soon enough she's right against me, still dancing away, drink in hand. Eventually she walks away to get another drink and I find it to be a moment where I can escape.

I shove my way through the people and into the hallway, leading to the stairs. I take them up to the second floor. There was a sign at the top of the stairs that said 'Do Not Enter', but I ignored it and went on. I saw that almost every door was open and they were all bedrooms. All doors except for 2 of them, I opened one and found a bathroom. I had a feeling that if I opened the other door I would find something different given the sounds that could be heard...

I went into one of the bedrooms and shut the door before collapsing on the bed. I was not about to go back downstairs anytime soon. I should've gotten a drink.... It would've made this night much easier to deal with.

****My first attempt at something different... I promise it will start to get better XD****
