"Because nothin' else matters when I'm with you," I sang strumming lightly on my guitar.
I took a deep breath, the air smelled like spring. The trees were newly green and leafy, the sun shone, birds were chirping, and the breeze was just enough to make the weather perfect. It was days like today I loved to come here and sit on my favorite bench and just play the guitar and sing.
"You're my life, my air, my world beyond compare," I sang quietly with my eyes closed, someone started clapping making my eyes fly openand me jump about ten feet in the air.
"You have a lovely voice," a boy with an Australian accent told me.
I looked at the blond boy before me, he was grinning at me sheepishly, his green eyes friendly, I almost couldn't help but notice that he was gorgeous. Almost. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."
I chuckled slightly at his embarrassment, "It's fine and thanks."
"You're welcome. I'm Ashton." He told me smiling fully, he had a really nice smile.
I ran my eyes down the length of him, he was tall hopefully taller than me, at 5'10 most guys weren't usually taller than me. Ashton was wearing an old band t-shirt that had been worn so much you could barely see the logo, it read "5 Seconds of Summer" at top of the shirt was five tally marks, and denim skinny jeans.
"Blue," I smiled at him.
"Chartreuse!" He looked down at me in amusement.
My name is unusual, my mom had thought naming me a color that had so many different variations would make me be the same way, a social butterfly. I wish that were true I chuckled and shook my head at him,"My name. It's blue."
"Oh!I thought we were just spouting off random colors!" He said laughing.
I grinned at him,"No."
"What was that song you were just singing?"
"I don't remember. I've had the lyrics stuck in my head all day." I sighed looking down at my light brown guitar.
"It's Ashton!!"
"OMIGOD ASH!" 2 girls screamed running toward him, ponytails bobbing after them.
"Hey!" He smiled sweetly at the 2 of them, they were obviously pretty. So he was one of THOSE guys, better I found out now instead of when I was involved.
"Can we have a autograph and a picture
Ash?! Pleasee?" They begged giggling.
"Sure babes," he smiled, his green eyes finding there way to mine he winked at me.
He took the paper they were shoving at him looking down his blond wavy bangs fell into his eyes in a way that made me want to push it back. DANG IT! No Blue! He's a player! A totally gorgeous and apparently famous player....
He's famous? And how come I've never heard of him? Questions swirled in my brain. Well he is Australian, I guess that's why.
He posed in between the two girls and smiled wider.
"AWWWW! It's so cute!" They squealed looking at each other.
Ashton smiled at them, "Bye girls!"
He leaned down and hugged both the girls.
"Thank you so much Ash!!" They said in unison, twin smiles painting there faces.
He smiled waving at them, turning back to me and said, "Sorry about that Blue, it comes with the territory."
"What territory?" I asked, still completely clueless as to why he had fans scrambling to get pictures and autographs.
He rubbed the back of his neck causing his bicep to flex, "I'm in a band, I'm the drummer." Which totally made sense by the way his bicep flexed as he fidgeted with his hair.
He was totally gorgeous, in a band, and charming. Oh dear Lord, help me.
I smiled, "That's cool! What's your bands name?"
"Five seconds of Summer, it's me and my 3 best friends!"
I laughed, "So it's called FIVE Seconds of Summer, but there's four of you?"
He grinned, "That's just the way 5Sauce rolls."
"5Sauce?!" I laughed harder.
"It's our bands initials!" He said smiling turning a little pink.
The conversation flowed from there. Ashton was easy to talk to, and really funny. We talked the afternoon away not even paying attention to the time.
I was laughing at some dumb joke Ashton had just told when his phone rang shaking us out of our own little world.
"Yo Cdizzle!" He cried.
"I'm still at the park-."
"No, I found a friend to talk to!" I raised an eyebrow at him and he winked at me
conspiratorially.
"Yeah..." He trailed off cheeks coloring slightly.
"Ok, I'll be there in a few." He hung up and gazed down at me with those sparkly light green eyes.
"I got to go. We've got a writing session." He sighed.
"Ok bye then." I smiled standing from the bench and grabbed my guitar and placed the strap around myself. He stood, raising to his full height. He's taller than me by a couple inches. SCORE.
"I could walk you home?" He smiled at me hopefully.
I bit my lip, I was sure I was blushing. Sadly I had not been blessed with the ability to tell when I was. "Thanks for the offer, but I drove here. You could walk me to my car?" I grinned at him.
"Sure!" He nodded.
We walked slowly side by side down the sidewalk, he was staring off towards the playground, lost in thought. I took the opportunity to study his profile.
His nose pointed slightly and his pink lips naturally pouted. His jawline sloped into his round chin. He glanced sideways catching me staring and him. He smiled at me widely bringing out his dimples.
I glanced away biting my lip. I saw my car and head toward it with Ashton following behind.
I stopped turning to face him, "I-."
at the same time he said, "Can-."
We both chuckled slightly, "You go first." I told him.
He rubbed the back of his neck again, "Can I uh-, have your number?"
He wanted my number?! OMIGOD!
I bit my lip, i had to be as red as a tomato.
"Sure," I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, as he handed me his phone. I quickly typed in my number, and handed it back to him.
"I'll text you later Blue! Bye!" He grinned and started to walk off.
I climbed in my car without another word. WHAT WAS I DOING. SAY SOMETHING TO HIM IDIOT!
I rolled down the window and hollered after him, "Hey Ash!" He turned around grinning, "I had fun today."
His smile widened, "I did too." He called back.
I rolled my window back up, and pulled out of the parking lot. Trying to remember a time I had smiled and laughed this much.
