Everything I have ever done in my life has prepared me for this moment. I have never been more ready. I get a feeling in my stomach that something great is gonna happen. The positive energy numbs the throbbing pain in my head and chest.
"Ten seconds until you're on." I hear one of the stage managers say.
In that short moment I look at him. He is smiling at me, but I can see the pain in his eyes. I know my best friend is scared and so am I. I try to smile but a tear roles down my cheek.
"Five seconds..." I wave at him and try my best to smile through the pain.
"Four..." I wipe the tears off of my face and focus my eyes on where I am heading.
"Three, two, one. We are live." I hear the stage manager say as I walk into the middle of the stage. The lights blinding my vision making everything blurry.
The next five minutes feel like a dream, that is, until those five minutes are over and I will the wake up and realize how life can change in the blink of an eye.
