After walking around for what felt like an eternity, you looked at the paper Ren had given you. You hadn't looked at it prior to now because you knew a whole fit of butterflies would erupt once the deed was done. It was an address, but it didn't have a restaurant name. You looked at the paper confused. Did they lie to me? Was this a joke? Ohhh hahahaha, theu told me to wait an hour so they could get away from me! You thought growing sad and frustrated. You crumpled the paper and put it in your pocket. Atleast I got to meet Ren. You thought trying to lighten the current mood you were in. You began to walk around soon realizing you had no clue where you were. Great! Just fantastic ( baby;)! My all-time idols played a joke on me, and now I don't know where I am! You yelled in your head in frustration, your usual happy-hyper mood fleeting fast. You began to think hard. How will I get back? Do I have the address to my dorm room? No, I left it in my bag on the bed! You began to look around with concentration at top speed. "THANK GOD!!!!!" you yelled out loud in English earning you a few judgemental stares. You didn't have time to even exercise the thought of caring. I google mapped my dorms address! I should have it in my history! You laughed in victory. You pulled your phone out of your back pocket, and opened google maps. You hit the history button, and pressed the most recent address. As you pressed the search button you realized something, this address looked an awful lot like the one Ren had given you. You starred at your phone feeling like you should be onto something. Omy gosh!!!! Ren gave me the address to a dorm...right next to mine!!! But...there's no way he would give out the address to his apartment to a stranger, would he??? Your head began to feel at it's normal pace of running a hundred miles an hour. Your body began to relax as normality once again occupied your body. Well, normal for you. Probably not normal for anyone else. You pulled out the crumpled up paper in your pocket, and eagerly punched in the address. The results you got only further confirmed your crazy theories. He had given you an address to a dorm, and, yes, it was located down the street from the one you would call home for the next four weeks. I can't tell if this is a joke, or if it's something from God himself. Had he written a random address on the paper, and it just so happened to be right next to your dorm? Maybe, maybe this is real! You would be damned if you let this opportunity slip through your fingers, so you finally decided upon going to check this place out for yourself. You clicked navigate on your search engine, and followed the path it directed you in.
After 45 minutes of fast walking, you had finally arrived at your destination, no doubt smelling like sweat. You stood in the front of the dorm not really knowing what to do at that point. You looked at the door and considered not going. Eating in front of my idols? I don't know, I've been known to shovel the heavenly life necessity down my throat. You thought having a smile erupt from your lips. You looked at the time and realized you were 30 minutes late! Way to be prompt... You thought mentally slapping yourself for not getting a cab. Regardless of your lateness you still couldn't bring yourself to walk up those front steps. What's the worst that could happen? It's not like you're looking for a husband in there! You thought knowing full well that you didn't want anything to do with relationships. Wouldn't hurt to make a few friends. "..." you burst into tears of laughter after a thought crossed your mind. My Nu'est friends! You were naturally an awkward and corny person, and you were usually the only one laughing at your jokes. People laughed along to your laughter and the jokes stupidity. Probably never because it was a genuinely good joke. As you took account of your surroundings, you realized someone was standing in front of you, Aron. "Why are you laughing so heard...out in the cold...in front of our house?" he asked in a concerned voice. You hadn't stopped smiling, nor had you taken account to the seriousness in his voice. You were distracted by the fact that he was speaking perfect English...to you. "God, it feels good to hear English, but boy does it feel good to finally hear Hangul." you said with a smile spread across your face. At this point, you realized, from his facial expression, that he was amused and still concerned. Ohh well. The fact already pasted. Nothing to do now. You thought mentally struggling. Never in your life would you have thought that you wouldn't be awkward with someone, especially if that someone were Nu'est!
"Would you like to come inside now?" he awkwardly asked after the deafening silence that followed your previous statement. Spoke too soon. You thought after realized that this situation was, indeed, awkward. "Umm, yes please!" you said sounding eager. A bit too eager. You flinched at your own reaction, and decided to blame it on the cold weather. Afterall, it was allot colder than you were used to having lived in the warmer parts of the U.S. growing up. He turned around and began walking towards the building in which you quickly followed. As you approached, you smelt something extremely interesting. You weren't familiar with the smell, you never really were because of your traveling job, but it smelt delicious nonetheless. Aron opened the door and held it open for you in which you quickly smiled, and pushed past him walked in. This took him by surprise, you could tell. Maybe he forgot how Americans act. Even still, you shouldn't be so rude. You mentally scolded yourself. You turned around towards Aron, bowed a 90° angle, and said "comawo" in almost expert Hangul. This also took him by surprise, and you felt like you couldn't win no matter what you did. Apparently, the rest of the group took notice of this as well as they all stopped what they were once doing, and stared at you as if you were a new species of man. Great! You thought sarcastically in your head. The head that held all of your inner jokes, thoughts, memories, trouble, joys, and dreams. You always protected your thoughts. They were, after all, what made you you. You gave them all a warm smile not knowing what to do, say, how to act, or where to go from there. They all fell out of their daze, and continued cooking leaving Aron to do the hosting. The smell from earlier made you realizing they were cooking something. When something was being cooked, it smelt a certain way, a sort of warm smell. Aron walked over to the fridge and pulled out two beers. Hoping one was for you, you starred at it. You had always wanted to try Korean beer. Does it taste different? Stronger? Weaker? The people in the dramas always make it look so strong, but then again they did like to over exaggerate things like this. You let your thoughts wander. "Do you want one? Are you a drinker?" as he asked this, you mentally panicked. If I say yes, will they think bad of me? But...I really want one! Your thoughts cut short as your lips betrayed you, and answered him. "Yes!" you said sounding excited. "So, you are a drinker." he said with a snort. Your cousin was right, he was an uptight ass! "Well, you of all people should know how much Americans like their alcohol." you said with a sarcastic smile on your face. He noticed, and you noticed him noticing your sarcasm. "Feisty." he replied with the same smile you had on not three seconds earlier. "I'm not feisty. I'm a person with an attitude when given one." you replied nonchalantly. You both starred at each other. Even though this was a very odd;) scene, you wouldn't be anywhere else! You were sassing Aron, Nu'ets, your all-time favorite group! How lucky am I??? You thought happily. "I like you." he replied easily. "Well, if you must know, I admire you." you replied looking at your can of beer, opening it, and returning your gaze back to him. You took a long drink, and let the cold liquid slid down your throat. Tastes like Mexican beer with a little less alcohol. You thought as you slightly shrugged and searched the can for the alcohol content on the nutrition facts.
"Come, sit." you heard a voice behind you say. You couldn't exactly pin the voice, but when you turned around, you a familiar face. One voice belonged to the one last joined, Jason. He had an accent. One that didn't exactly fit the Korean one. He had a Mandarin accent. Without thinking you spoke, which was always a no-no. Your thoughts, if not filtered before said, could either save your life or complicate it. It usually complicated it. "Please speak to me in Mandarin!" he looked at you confused. "Arraso." he freely said. He seemed relieved to speak his native language. "..." you almost cried. Languages were a beautiful thing to you. Always had been. To you, they were words straight from ones heart and mind to the latters. You didn't know what to say so you just starred. You looked away and took another chug of your beer before finally complying to Jason request of sitting. I have a feeling this is going to be a very rough night. You thought looking back on all of the events of your first night in Seoul.
