Big sister issues

I'm going to make a terrible big sister! You must be thinking, you have 6 younger siblings but I don't live with them all the time and it's rare I have to be. This baby is going to change everything. He needs someone to watch over him! Oh, wait! I forgot to tell you, it's a boy! Mom is 5 months pregnant now and she is having a baby boy. It's going to be different. Extremely different. Very very different but I'm going to have to deal with that.

I'm lying in bed, listening to 'How deep is your love?' By Calvin Harris, when I hear the door knock, faintly.

"Come in." I call still staring down at my phone. I bet you 100 dollars it's my mom at the door.

"Hey, Amber." I hear a man voice say. I look up to see my dad standing there. Oh, Damn! You win but if you could leave the 100 dollars part out. You will... Thanks!

"Hey, what's up, hello?" I say to him, looking up at him.

"How's life going?" He asks sitting down on the edge of the bed, not taking his eyes off me.

"Fine." I tell him.

"I know that, it's not all fine. You've probably got a 100 different things running through your mind. Like am I going to be rejected? Is my baby brother going to take all the attention? And so on. It's normal for you to feel like that but I promise you. You won't be rejected or will your baby brother take all the attention away from you." He tells me kissing my forehead and leaving the room.

"Thanks, dad."

The truth is, I had been thinking over all of those things and many more too! I know I shouldn't but I can't help it. Sometimes, you have to forget about everything and just relax for a second.

I place my earphones onto my desk and hold my phone as I walk downstairs still in my pyjamas. It is only 10 in the morning and I'm not getting ready today. I'm not going anyway so today I am going to think about my life.

I sit on the couch in the front room, I grab the TV remote and switch it on. I immediately go to the movie section and look through. None of them catch my eye on the action section so I go over to the comedy section.. We're The Millers. I click on it and it downloads. It has to be one of the funniest films ever!

Before it starts I go to the kitchen to get some popcorn. I raid into the cupboards and it turns out I have been so fixated on my popcorn. That I didn't notice she was sitting right behind me on the table.

"What are you looking for?" She asks looking up from her magazine. I don't know why she even reads them to be honest. Sometimes they have her and her friends in it so what's the points of reading it?

"Popcorn." I answer. She points to where it is located and I grab it.

"What film are you watching?" She asks, just before I walk out.

"A film, which you play a mom in." Is all I answer to her. I laugh through the film but I ended up failing asleep near the ending because I wake up on my mom's lap.

Soon, I'll be waking up to baby crying all the time!
