We all enter the haunted house. The second we enter it's absolutely pitch black. I grab on to the first person I see, burying my face in their arm. The whole way through the haunted house I didn't look up at all. Every bang, scream, and puff of air made me jump. Finally, the person I was clinging to the whole way through the haunted house said, "You can look now, it's over." It's Matt. As I look up it is still pitch black. Before my eyes can adjust, a bloody clown with an ax pops out at me. I scream and jump up and down. I slap Matt in the shoulder. "Jerk!" I shout. "Sorry, babe." He laughs. I elbow him. "I'm not your babe, and I totally won this bet." I chuckle.
We get to the actual end of the haunted house. As we opened the exit, and light flooded in, a metal rod from the ceiling comes falling down. "Move!" Matt screams, pulling me out of the way. I hear the rod bang loudly on the ground as I regain my balance. I hear Alicia scream in pain. Shit. The rod hit her. I grab Alicia and help her out of the door. Matt is outside, waiting, and Shawn is on the other side of Alicia. Once outside, we set her down. The rod hit her foot. Thank god it only hit her foot. Shawn carries her to his car, my mom drove Alicia and I here. Alicia and I sit in the back seat. Shawn drives to a hospital.
After waiting about twenty minutes, we found out Alicia has three broken toes and won't be able to walk for three weeks. "Can someone come back with me to wheel her out?" The nurse says. Before I can even speak, Shawn hastily says, "I'll go!"
The nurse and Shawn go back to get Alicia while Matt and I sit in the waiting room. "What an interesting day." Matt sighs. I nod, "Sure was." We continue to talk for a bit when Matt brings up our bet. "So about our bet... If Alicia gets a boyfriend and some broken toes, the least I can get is your number." He chuckles. I smile back at him. "Yeah, I mean I would have preferred the broken toes, but I guess my number will suffice." He smiles and laughs again. "Give me your phone." I hold out my hand. Matt grabs his phone from his pocket and I type my number in. A minute later, Shawn comes back, wheeling Alicia in an old blue hospital wheel chair. A few minutes later, we are all signed out of the hospital and Shawn drives us home. When we arrive home, I bring Alicia into the house and go back out to grab my sweatshirt. As I'm turning to go inside matt calls me. "Hey Chris!" I turn around. "What's up?" I ask. "Do I have to wait the three days after getting a girls number to text her or can I just text her tomorrow?" He asks.
"Surprise her." I say, knowing he was talking about me. "But tomorrow the girl may be free, so I say text her tomorrow." I wink at him and go inside.
