You sighed as you plopped yourself on your bed. The day had been long. Excruciatingly tedious, actually. You had spent the whole day alone at school, Arthur nowhere in sight, and Antonio wasn't there either. Elizabeta had some school stuff to do you didn't recall and the teachers managed to make the classes really boring that day. PE, in particular, had been a pain: endurance tests.
Yourself not a particularly physically active girl, more like a creative one, you were sore, and that, everywhere.
"I need to be more active." you thought to yourself. "One day...." you added, lacking the motivation.
"[Name]?" you heard from the door.
You turned your head in its direction. "Yeah, dad?"
"The office needs me. I'll be back at around eleven, alright? Emil too."
"Mh-hmm" you replied, turning your head to look at the ceiling, closing your eyes. "Dad, don't let work control you, okay?" you asked, opening your eyes and glanced back at him. He just nodded and walked out of your room.
"I wanna spend some time with you too, you know...." you whispered more for yourself than anything else, since you thought he couldn't hear you. He actually did, and he glanced at you, slight shock painted on his usual pokerface before he walked down the stairs.
You sighed again, forcing yourself up and ignored the little pain your muscles gave you. Your gaze trailed along the room, until it stopped on your guitar. You cracked a smile as you stood up and walked towards it, plugged the wire in the amplifier and made sure the shiny instrument was tuned before you strung a few, random notes.
After a while, they started to morph into a song you knew so well and loved. Arthur had focused his whole 'training session' into making you know the chorus of 'Some Say' by heart. You still missed a few notes or forgot them for a few seconds, but it was recognizable.
You beamed as you played it over and over again, until you grew bored a little and put your guitar back on the stand.
You walked out of your room, the living room now your direction, grabbing your iPod on the way. With an auxiliary cable, you plugged it in the sound system and tapped on one of the numerous playlists, the one with all the new music you discovered from Arthur. The first song was chosen at random, and it landed on one from 'The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.'
DING DONG
You jumped. It couldn't be a volume complaint, it wasn't even that high.... Nonetheless, you walked up to your door and opened it, only to see Arthur with..... a black eye?!
"Dude, what happened to you!?" you asked, as you let him enter and tried to calm your rising heartbeat, closing the door behind you afterwards.
"Long stor-- Hey, is that 'False Pretense'?"
"Probably. Can't tell the songs apart for now....." you replied, shrugging. "Still, tell me! ...Do you need ice or something?" you asked, worried, as you pulled him in your living room, and made him sit on the couch.
"No, no, I'm fine, really, love." he said. "Why did I even come here....?" he whispered, talking to himself. "Oh, yeah..... She made me......"
"Mmmh?" you asked, since you just heard his whispered voice; not what he said.
"N-Nothing!" he said, as his gaze trailed to your hooked up iPod.
A silence, except for the music, wormed its way between the two of you. You knew that, if he didn't want to, he wouldn't tell you. He really was that stubborn. Honestly, you were nervous. Why? You didn't actually know. Then you remembered that he wasn't there today at school.... That would actually explain it.
