Noah's POV -

As I was walking to the cafeteria, I heard someone call out my name. Ryder. He was my best friend, my partner in crime, my wingman and most importantly, my brother. I know this sounds stupid but it's true. We have known each other since we were in diapers through our parents. We've been going to the same kindergarten, middle school and now high school. If any one of us has gotten ourselves into some kind of trouble, we have each other's backs. This will probably include us bashing their brains out causing them to end up in the hospital.

If there are any girl problems we both act as each other's wingmen and if either one of us wants to ditch a girl, we would cause a massive scene which will get us kicked out of the place so we can leave. Bro's before hoe's right?

There was only one thing that we would never ever do, date a girl for more than a week. I have never even had a girl worthy enough to be called 'girlfriend'. It was too over rated like characters in books. They meet when they are around my age or younger and they instantly fall in love and live happily ever after. Like that will happen.

The only girls you get here are always underdressed or too slutty for my liking. I hate those types of girls. But I have to admit, they are great in bed. There is no denying that. I want someone who is mysterious, good hearted and really intelligent. I want someone who I can actually carry out a conversation with. Even though I'm none of the above, I want someone who can actually change that part of me and is also willing to put up with me. That will be the person I want to be with. All I know is that I won't find her here.

However, there's this one girl that has been on my mind lately. Ella. Oh god I hate her so much. The first time I saw her, she was the teacher's pet. She received good grades, was the star pupil in every single year and yet she's not happy. If I had a brain like hers, I would show off my A* to everyone and at least smile. She doesn't do any of that. Instead, she just sits at the back of the class, goes to god knows where for lunch and wears those big baggy sweatshirts every day. Idiot.

When I found out that the biggest loser in school was my partner for the project, I was kind of happy. This meant that I could get a good grade without doing anything. An easy A. I was quite content until she started talking to me about some science thingy. I found it funny how she thinks I am actually going to do some work. I would probably make some plans to meet up with her but ditch her at the end. Ha! That would be hilarious.

Ryder caught up to me and placed his hand around my shoulders. He pushed me forward, heading towards the cafeteria.

"So is it true?" he asked.

"About what?" curious as to what he was talking about.

"You got partnered up with that loner we make fun of. What's her name again?" he asked while snapping his fingers at the same time.

"Ella?"

"Yes Ella! So is it?"

"Unfortunately. Out of all the girls in the class, I had to work with her because I walked in with her. Stupid teacher..." I mumbled at the end.

"Wait, hold it there. You were walking with her as in side by side? Are you high right now? You must be having a fever. Let's take you home and make you a nice cup of cof-"

"Just shut up! It's a long story that I don't want to be reminded of so just drop it, 'kay?"

He took his arm off my shoulders and held it up in the air, palms towards me. "Woah dude, calm your tits. I didn't mean to get you mad. I was just curious that's all. No need to go Hulk on me."
