Trey's POV
It was a Saturday morning and I woke up to the shine of the bright sun. I stretched and went into the bathroom to get ready for the day. Once I was done I head downstairs to get food when I heard a slight commotion from my parent's room. I head back upstairs to my parent's room and knock twice, after not getting a response, I slowly turn the knob and freeze at what was in front of me. My dad was eating my mom's intestines, covered in blood. The sight making me want to throw up, cry, and stop him all at once. My dad turns his head towards me and I notice his grayish skin. He immediately stands up and I run down the stairs. I head into the garage, slam the door behind me, climb into my car and then proceed to lock all the doors. I search for the keys in the glove compartment and quickly find them while my dad enters the garage. I press the button to open the garage door and put the keys in the ignition while he bangs on the windows, trying to get in. I quickly pull out of the drive way, and drive away from my zombie father. The streets are full of people, some running around, some heading out or in the store, even some getting eaten by zombies. I drive onto the freeway and decide to call one of my closest relative, Phillip. After hearing the answering machine I tried again and again but got the same result. I step on it and start going 100 miles per hour, heading towards his house as fast as I could.
Phillip's POV
I woke up, feeling tired and headed towards the kitchen but as soon as I walk out of my room, I'm shocked to see my sister's corpse. Then I spot my mom waddling out of her room, her grayish skin and bloodstained shirt making me sure she was a zombie. I run back inside my room and grab the closest thing to me, a lamp, and swing it, hitting her on the head. She falls on the floor dead.
Trey's POV
I turn onto Phillip's street and into his driveway. I run inside of Phillip's house, which was surprisingly unlocked and into his room, hoping he wasn't dead yet or worse, a zombie. I spot Phillip balled up in the corner of his room, with his mom, dead at his feet.
"C'mon,'' I told him.
He stood up and we head into the kitchen, grabbing all the large knives that we could find. Afterwards we both go inside to Phillip's garage and into his shiny blue car. Phillip climbs into the driver's seat and I in the passenger's, he starts the car and drives away.
"So, it's really happening isn't it?" Phillip asks.
"Yea. We can leave the state. Maybe it'll be safer,'' I suggest.
"Not yet. I can't leave without my best friends."
I wasn't convinced that easily but I finally agreed. Having more people to help means a better chance of survival.
At least for me.
