A Heart's Wonder

Chapter 2

He got off work early. Too early. He figured, "I only came here for you. Why bother wait longer now that I've seen you." Oh how his grandfather would roll in his grave if he ever heard those words leave his lips. James smiled to himself as he walked on the concrete pavement, his shoes tapping with every step. He looked to the sky and smiled. The sun seemed to reflect his beam, as if to tell him, I understand you. He sighed. How he wished he could see Sivoné again.

He knew he was starting to sound like an addict waiting for a fix but he just felt the dire need to spend some time with her. He shook his head.

"You've only had one conversation with her. What are you thinking?" He thought aloud to himself. Shaking his head once more, he stepped into his not-as-grand-as-Paul's car.

The roads were clear. What a pain. This just gave him more excuses to let his mind wander into his inner desire. Sivoné. She looked extra beautiful today, all rushed and flushed. He smiled to himself, how he wished it was he she was rushed and flushed to see. He loved her hair, the red called out to him like a siren song. Like she was a mermaid calling a sailor to his peril at sea. That's it. She was his mermaid. Her pale skin gleamed like porcelain. So fragile and smooth.

He wondered how she got Louis in the first place. Was he made with the love two persons or was he an unintentional miracle. They looked a picture, Sivoné and Louis. Two red beauties blazing a trail of inner and outer beauty. There were like sodium to water to him. They looked too beautiful to be alone. He wondered where the man of the home was. Was it mutual or tragic? Had he wanted Louis?

A couple of minutes had gone by, then he noticed, the grand car of Paul and for a moment, he stopped breathing. It was like the heavens belted out a chorus of hope. This is it James, you finally have the chance to actually build a connection.

It seemed like his body moved on its own, driving and parking perfectly and calmly. This is it. He took a deep breath and walked inside the fast food joint.
