"Everything is Yours" by Kehlani

Chapter 1

(UNEDITED)

"Are you almost done yet? I'm starving!" I hear my brother yell impatiently from the living room where he was jiggling the keys to our Mercedes. "Stop rushing me! I'm almost done!" I yell back from my bedroom. I quickly dropped my towel from my shower slipping on my undergarments, a pair of black leggings and an over-sized dark red sweater, then walked to my bedroom door.

I slipped on my black toms and left my room only after I pressed a sweet kiss to the picture frame of my parents that sat on my dresser. No matter where I'm going, I always kiss the picture frame of my parents before leaving my new bedroom.

"Finally." Robby groans and heads towards the front door of our two bedrooms one story white house. I pick up the closest thing to me which is a small pillow from a still packed box and throw it at his big fat head.

"That didn't even hurt." He brags turning to me his light green eyes with brown specks meeting my dark green eyes with light brown specks. "It didn't?" I asked grabbing a pen and chunked that at him laughing when it hit him in the forehead.

His face scrunched up and he rubbed his forehead then glared at me. "I bet that did." I giggle and proceeded to skip past him only to feel a tug on my hair. I yanked my elbow length black curly hair over my shoulders and flung my arm back hitting Robby in the arm.

"Stop abusing me. I'll tell Grandpa." Robby whines and I smirked putting a hand on my hips and stared up at my tall brother. "How? He's in Georgia and we are in Arizona. Plus, our phones don't cut on until tomorrow evening." I say and he just stares at me.

"That's what I thought." I say turning around and walk out of the house giggling when I hear him whisper "bully" before also walking out of the house. With a sigh in satisfaction, I climbed into the grey Mercedes that our parents left us and buckled up waiting on Robby to get into the car.

I turned to my older twin brother by six minutes and smiled as he pulled on our dad's old white hat tucking all of his black ear length hair into the hat. Robby started the car and drove to the nearest restaurant to our new house.

With a small smile, I watched the houses on our street zoom passed us only to grimace when I felt I felt a slight discomfort aching feeling in my side where my scar is. Reaching under my shirt I rubbed the thick scar that runs from just underneath my armpit and to my hip. When the ache went away, I sighed in relief and reached towards the radio and cut it on.

I smiled and cut the radio up as soon as I hear my favorite artist Kehlani singing one of my favorite songs from her new album "Everything is Yours". I sing along to the song until we pulled up in front of a sandwich joint filled with people coming in and out.

"What's this place called again?" I ask Robby pulling my thick hair up into a messy tight ponytail with difficulty. "Joey's Sandwiches." Robby said climbing out of the car and I followed behind him.

We walked into the bustling small restaurant and to a stand where a girl stood with a smile waiting to greet us. "Hello, welcome to Joey's Sandwich's. How many?" She asks "Two." Robby tells her and she nods. She gives two menus to a girl that stood next to her in a work uniform with three other girls standing in line.
