Well, as you all prolly guessed, Alea and Carter grew old together, and they lived a long, happy life together. Carter went into the music business, made millions of the single "Highway to Hell" inspired by there encounter with him. He changed his name in the song though because there was one person that got away from the basement, he didn't want and recurrences. So, they were rich, loved each other, had 10 beautiful kids, had a lovely shack in the middle of the woods, and had everything they could ever ask for.
But eventually, like people do, one died before the other. It happen to be that Alea was first. At the age of 56, someone came into their home one day while Carter was at work, she first came to just ransack the place, but then Alea saw her so she decided to shoot her. But she only shot her in the leg so she was still alive, so she shot her again. Apparently, Alea is a strong woman so it took about 15 bullets to actually put her down. The sad thing is that the kids were watching. Oh, and the person stole all the kids too......but when Carter came home, he found Alea (She was still partly alive! That trooper.) He called the cops, and went to go find his children. Luckily, the person left a trail of poop from one of the kids (Noah liked to go commando and usually was gassy) and he followed that.
It lead all the way up to the mountain. Right into the temple. He brought Alea along so 1. She could watch, and 2. Because he wanted to bury her on the mountain ironically. In the temple were the children, laughing and making the weird noise that babies make. But, the person happen to be there and shot Carter too. And all of the children but one. Noah. So he sat there farting.
Luckily the farting alerted a nearby hiker and the he was found. Along with all of the dead bodies too. No one knows who the killer was. (Actually they do know and it was someone who goes by the name of moko or something. Apparently she liked Carter too but when she realized he wouldn't like her back after killing his wife, she shot him.) So till this day, they call the mountain the grinche's mountain because now she turned into a boy, turned green, and live us there, scrawling down at whoville. With only her dog to comfort her.
