Tyra's POV
Just my yearly Halloween dream, I laughed. For some supernatural reason I only have that dream on halloween. I heard shuffling and turned to my left, a man with bright brown eyes stared back at me. Then I started to twitch and pain surrounded every part of my body. I screamed and grabbed what was closest to me. Which happened to be the bright-brown eyed man. Calm down breath, he soothed. I can't breath, I shouted in between gasps. My heart stopped and I grabbed it. It became even harder to breath and my grip on the man tightened. The man inched closer and hugged me to his chest. I felt safe in his arms. It hurts, I whimpered. I know, I know; he said. I started to cough up a red liquid, that I realized was blood. Only one more stage, he said. Which is, I asked. Death, he answered. I'm going to die, I cried. What's your name, I asked. Keith, he whispered. I just stared at the roof and breath one last time.
Keith's POV
She asked for my name with her last living breath? She won't remember anything but her name, if she survives the transformation, none of us do. We only remember our names, so we don't drown in sorrow about out past life. Your a fledgling until you drink your first drop of blood, then you get stronger, faster, and more body beauty. She might be sleep for weeks or months. I got up and went in the bathroom to take a shower. Then I did my business. My mom walked in the room and screamed, did you kill her. No, I turned her, I answered. Why, she asked. Well, she's my mate; I said. Om god, congrats; she screamed. What happened, what's wrong, is everyone OK; my father asked. Yes, everything's fine. But, my father said. Keith found his mate, she was Human, and he turned her; she shrugged. He did what, my father shouted. I couldn't help it, I argued. We were in a dark alley and I was playing a prank on her. And, my mother urged me to continue. Well, she wasn't scared, she actually played along, but her voice was calm. Then what really turned me on was that she was in a white angel costume, I said going into detail. Dude your totally girlified ( my word, made up), a voice shouted from the door. I knew it was my brother, so I threw a pillow at him. You are going to deal with her thirst and train her, my father signed. Does that mean I can be with her 24/7, I asked. If that's what it takes then yeah, he said in a duh tone. Yes, I yelled and fist pumped the air. I felt a movement behind me and turned towards my mate. She was twitching again, that's not supposed to happen. What's going on, I asked my father. He just stared of in space. My mom on the other hand used her power to see what was wrong. She can see the future. Right now she was seeing if she would survive, or what would happen after the twitching. She's half winged one, my mother said shock clear in her voice. They're extinct, I said. Not anymore, now they're just endangered, she said. Winged ones were a mixture of a dark and light angel. My mate, who's name I still don't know, started floating in the air, high above the bed. A bright glow shined off of her. Her fangs longed and her eyes shone blueish green with a black ring around the outside. Her skin seemed to rip right under her shoulderblades. White wings began to make their way out of her back. Good thing it took of her costume and put her in one of my shirts. I barely looked. Wait, she's going to rip my shirt. I ran over and tugged my shirt off. That was smart, myom smiled. Thanks, I smiled. I was actually just saving my shirt, but what she doesn't know won't hurt her. Her wings were now fully grown. Her wings were a white feathery wonder. They wrapped around her and she fell back on the bed breaking it. My bed, I shouted. I'll buy you a new one, help your mate into another room for now; my mother said. The proficy is true, my father came out of his thinking state. The proficy states that a girl that goes through a lot shall be the last winged one, she shall watch over us, she is the queen of every species. What could have happened to my little mate that was so bad, I thought. Please, daddy I'm sorry, don't hit me, please; my mate started talking in her sleep. I listened closer. Daddy don't hit me, I didn't mean it, I'm sorry, she mumbled things like that until she just screamed. She sat up screaming and craddling herself. There goes one vampire whose gonna remember her past, my dad said. I placed my hand on her shoulder and she flinched. Why did he do that, why would a father do that to his daughter; she cried. I pulled her into a hug and she cried on my shoulder. Your safe now, I whispered. No, the dark angel has claimed his prize, until killed by one who cares more for it than he; she whispered before falling stiff in my arms. She passed out in my arms. I hate to say it, but she's right; my mother said. I stayed silent, but I knew she was right. I put her in one of the guest room beds and laid beside her. I didn't want to let her go, so I didn't. I fell asleep with my Queen in my arms.
