**The next morning, Arlington National Cemetery**
**Charlee's POV**

I jump the fence and then land on my feet, clutching a few cans of beer. I adjust myself and then put on my beret. I walk down the rows until I find Nicholas's grave. I go to my knees and then sit by his grave. I open one beer and then put another on his stone. "Hey, man. We always said we'd have a beer after the war ended, so, um, here's to you," I say as I take a drink. I sigh and then put my beer down.
"I can't believe it's been just two years since the war ended and they buried you here. I always thought they buried you in Dixieland," I say as I run a hand through my hair.
"I finally managed to do something about the United States and their lies. I guess you'd say I finally got my head out of my ass," I say as I laugh quietly.
"I guess what I mean to say is I'm sorry. I've been busy with everything that's been going on in Russia," I say, but then laugh. "Yeah, I've been busy. Busy getting my head f**ked with by Baker and his shit," I say bitterly as I look at the sky.
"I'm so sorry, Nicholas. I've been so selfish. I've had the time to visit, but I haven't. I guess I blame myself. I mean, I was with you when you died," I say as tears run down my face. Rain starts falling as I sob, my tears falling down my face.
"Remember that day in Orleans, Nicholas? It started raining and I started crying," I say as I smile softly.

***Orleans, France, 2096, US Army Base***

1st Lt. Petrovich sits in her tent, tears running down her face. She begins to sob as it begins to rain. "Petrovich!" she hears someone exclaim as she wipes her eyes. She sniffles, but can't stop the tears.
"Charlee, the general wants to talk to you. It's probably about our last-," she hears Nicholas say as he entered her tent. "Are you okay?" he asks as she nods, tears still falling. "No you're not. What's wrong?" he asks as she begins to sob loudly. He holds her to him as another soldier comes in.
"Captain Patterson, the general wants-," he says as Nicholas holds up a finger for silence. "I'll come back," the soldier says as he leaves.
"Hush now, Commie. It's gonna be okay. I promise," he says as Charlee wipes her face.
"I wanna go home. I don't wanna be here," she sobs as he smiles. "Everybody's thought that, baby. But each one's stayed. You'll be fine," he says as she stands. She fixes her uniform and then stares at Nicholas.
"I'll make you a promise, Commie. As soon as this war's over, the first bar we stop at, the first round will be on me. I promise," he says as she smiles. "Yeah, and I'll be legally allowed to drink then," she says as he laughs. "See? You're already thinking like yourself," he says as he ruffles her hair. They leave her tent and he stops her.
"Listen to me, Commie. Promise me as soon as we're stateside, you'll go and see a shrink," he says as she looks at him oddly. "Why?" she asks as he sighs. "Just promise me, okay?" he says as she shrugs. "Okay, but I don't see the point," she says as she walks off. "You may not, Commie, but I do," he thought as he walks away.

**Present day, Arlington Cemetery**
**Charlee's POV**

I stand and then stare at Nicholas's stone, sighing. "Thanks for being there for me, man. I miss you. Hope you got some peace in the next world. I'll be seeing you, man," I say as I salute him. I turn on my heel and leave, taking my can of beer and leaving the other. I look at the sky, at the first lights of morning as I leave. The rays of light, oddly enough, make me feel like Nicholas heard and is smiling at me.

**Unknown POV**

As Charlee leaves, I go to Nicholas's grave myself. The can of beer, cheap and glittering dully in the morning light, makes me a bit angry. "Oh Nicholas, my friend. How I've waited to see you like this. I admit I felt sad at your passing, but now, I get my chance with Miss Petrovich," I think as I put a bouquet of flowers on his gravestone.
"Hey you! How'd you get in? We don't open for another hour!" I hear a guard exclaim as I stand.
"Oh, sorry, sir. I didn't realize it was you," he says as I salute him. He returns the gesture and then walks off.
"You'd better not have that tone with me. Especially since I'll be the one who stops another f**king war that those Commies'll start," I think as I turn and leave.

So here's another part done. The picture isn't of Charlee, but I found it to be an accurate representation of her. Soon, a new day shall dawn in the world of the R.A.R. and in Charlee's relationship with Yuri. Continue to read on, friends.
