Hours passed as I sat in the room. I had heard footsteps outside the door a couple of times but no one came in. I tried opening the door, with no succes, just the confirmation they had locked me in here.

Another pair of footsteps came close, but I thought it was just someone else passing by again. The clicking off the lock made me rush back to my 'bed' and sit on it. The door opened and a young boy with a cautious look on his face appeared. My voice cracked as I wanted to say something but was too scared. The boy walked into the room and stopped right in front of me. He didn't say anything and neither did I.

''They are going to present you to the government,'' he said. ''And they are gonna judge you. I wish I could tell you why they will be doing it, but they will kill me if they found out. Just know I don't agree with them. I never had, I guess, like you I was just born in a faulty system.''

I didn't know what to reply to him, I neither did know if I could trust him or not, but it was nice to hear someone talk to me. And to at least know a little bit of what is going to happen. ''Thank you'' I whispered, and right when I said it I knew how stupid that sounded. ''No problem, I'm Dorian, by the way'' He smiled and stook out his hand for me to shake. His dark curls fell into his face when he moved, and when he moved it back into place I noticed his eyes. Green, with a hint of brown. Framed with long lashes and thick black eyebrows. Handsome. That was the fist word that came to mind when I looked at him. He looked sincere, his eyes had something honest in them, maybe I could trust him. It would be nice to have someone else in this with me. Whatever 'this' may be.

I shook his hand, ''Aelynn.'' He smiled at me and handed me the plate of food he was holding the whole time ''Be careful Aelynn, and please don't tell anyone I talked to you, I'm not supposed to'' he said, and then he left again. Locking the door behind him.

I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I sat down with the food. It wasn't much, just a slice of bread, some mashed potatoes and a piece of chicken, but it managed to settle my rumbling stomach down.

Like I expected the government building was huge, extravagant, and of course, heavily guarded. It was almost only made of glass.

Two men guided me inside the building. That gave me the feeling that they didn't want to lose sight of me. They escorted me to a huge room. The walls were all made of glass, which allowed me to see through. Huge pairs of buildings made up the skyline. They actually all looked alike, but it didn't look anything like back home. In lower you only find a big building when it's a hospital. That because we lowers get assigned a normal house, not a very big one, nor a too small one, and we need to live with that. Only community buildings like stores are bigger than the houses. Contrary to home, they do use much more advanced technology here.

By the time my eyes reached the end of the glass wall, scanning the scenery, a voice interrupted my thoughs, attracting my attention.

My eyes noticed a very familiar person. And old, yet fit looking man stood in front of me. He looked exactly the same as what the media showed us, like I had seen him all my life. He didn't look a single day older. The intimidating look on his face perfectly matched the idea I had of him every time he was on tv.

''What's your name girl?'' He asked me. His loud voice suddenly broke the silence in the room. ''a-Aelynn'' I stuttered, not sure how to feel. He didn't say anything but typed something on the device in front of him. Suddenly a screen appeared before me, which showed them my insides, I saw my heart beating on it, I saw it all work. But as fascinating it was, it also gave me a very wrong feeling. Something was definitely gonna happen to me, and as far as I can tell it has something to do with my body.
