I stared at the man, confused on why he was here. His breathing was ragged, almost like he could not get enough air into his lungs.
Boom!
Another firework shot into the sky, lighting up the man again. The short few seconds that he was visibly confused me. The man covered his ears, and tumbled over.
Boom!
He was standing.
Boom!
He started to slowly stalk towards me.
I whisper a few words to Sidney, before I run back to the house. I told Sidney that I left something inside, but in truth, I was testing a theory.
A minute later, the man was nearing the house. I thought about calling the police, but since neither my brother or my friends seem the man this close to the house, could only mean one thing.
They can't see him, and I can.
However, if memory serves me right, Cassie seen the man as well. But just now, the man passed right in from of Cassie, with no reaction from him.
I thought over quickly of the things I could do.
I could not think fast enough, the man was right in from me. I try to duck as he swipes, but not fast enough. The force stuns me, losing precious seconds to escape.
The man lunges and pins me to the ground. A gasp escapes from me as he starts to choke me.
I close my left eye in pain, and the scenery changes.
Like in the hospital, the room was damp and the smell of blood was thick. The man was taken off guard by the sudden change, losing his grip on my bruised throat. I take this chance to wiggle out of his grasp.
The man turns back to me, and attempts to grab my leg, as I try to crawl away.
He grabs my leg with a stone grip, and yanks me, causing me to fall and hit the floor with a hard 'Thud!' Pain exploded throughout my body before I passed out.
A cold droplet falls onto my nose, waking me up. I grab my head and look around. I was back in my house with no unfamiliar man in sight. I sighed and looked up to the dripping thing.
I felt my head pulsating as I stared at the overflowing sink, with piling dishes inside. I push myself up and looked outside the window.
No one was outside, and everything looked deserted. I put my hand in my pocket, trying to find my phone before realising that I dropped it in the other room.
I slowly walk out of the kitchen, noting how dirty the place was. We didn't have a big party unless they decided to after the fireworks were over. I shake my head and went into the living room.
I stared at how empty the place was, no furniture, dust covering the bare floors and walls, and the boarded up window. I tried to open the door, yanking on it with futile, it won't budge.
After looking around the place, there was nothing there in the other rooms. No signs of life at all. Where was everyone?
I return to the kitchen, hoping to find something that could help me figure out where I was. After looking around, there was nothing. I sighed, and dropped down onto the grey tiles. Anxious thoughts swirl my head, causing me to curl up into a ball.
Scraping sounds pulls me from my toxic thoughts, as I tried to locate the sound. Getting up, I followed the sound to a door, which wasn't there before. Opening it slowly, I peered into the darkness. More scraping sounds from below, it leads downstairs.
