When in a car with a fighting couple, it’s always good to pretend to not be paying attention.
And, since she couldn’t freely converse with Avery, she turned to the next best thing. Texting.
Phones were really a wonderful invention.
First she checked up on her underlings, making sure nothing important had happened in her short absence. Then she sent a snarky text to Mycroft regarding her disapproval of his methods, and informing him she had collected his siblings and John.
He ignored the general implications of the text and gave a brief meaningless reply that Phoenix would have sighed at had she been alone.
John and Sherlock, on the other hand, were pointedly ignoring each other, which Avery seemed to be enjoying immensely. Who knew what went on in her mind?
Needless to say, Phoenix was glad when the car finally stopped.
