Chapter 1

Introductions & Food

Notebook lain before me I study my drawing than look at what I wanted to draw when I came outside for PE.

Frowning I notice a slight difference with my sketch.

A shadow figure peeks out from behind a peaceful swaying cherry blossom tree. It's not the first time for this to happen. Sometimes when I draw something, an item or figure appears in the drawing while it isn't there in the scene.

Letting out a sigh I shut my drawing book, not wanting to see any of my work. Few of them are normal sketches but it happens rarely and I assume that there must be something wrong with my head; though no signs of me wanting to kill people have surfaced yet so I don't tell anyone but my best friend about these dark drawings.

Getting up I turn my back to the tree and study the castle only several yards away from me. I've tried capturing the beauty of my academy but sadly I can't. The building itself has so much detail and foreboding that it's almost impossible to put it down on paper and I find myself ripping every picture in half.

Glancing at the sun I take note on it shy before the middle of our bright blue sky which means my favorite time of the day starts; lunch.

A girl's voice rings out "Rose!"

As I turn my head a girl with long straight black hair and glowing green eyes is running for me with outstretched arms and ready to tackle me. She throws herself at me and I took a step to the side in time.

The girl, known as my best friend and devilish twin throughout our academy, lands on the ground with a oomph. Chuckling I say "Nice nose dive Sam." She hops up and swipes away dirt from her riding clothes "Maybe you should have caught me!"

Two male laughter's sound out from behind me, one of the boys commented "Even if Rose did you'd both be on the ground and she would be in a lot more pain than you."

Sam stomps up to the boy with wild purple and black hair "Adam... did you just call me fat?"

The boy with ruffled up honey brown hair throws an arm over my shoulder "You're not fat but I can't lie about that ass."

Sam turns her glare to him "You're just jealous."

He laughs "Sorry but jealousy does not look good on me but on you it's fabulous darling."

Adam lets out a laugh "Oh burn!"

Sam snaps at him "Shut up," she turns her glare back to the handsome boy with his arm around me, "don't make me kill you Trevor."

Trevor giggles next to me.

Rolling my eyes I say "Calm down, lunch is about to start soon."

Shrugging off Trevor's arm I head for the academy's back double doors. Adam hurries to my side "How do you know?" I glance to the sky "You can check the time by the sun, you don't always need your phone." The cheerful boy pouts "Do you always have to be so mature?"

I give him a crooked smile "Who else will hold you guys back from shaming yourselves."

Sam links her arm to me "That's true, I think we all stay friends because of you."

Rolling my eyes I flick a piece of hair over my shoulder "Why are you trying to butter me up?"

She shrugs "I don't know but is it working?"

"Nope," I make sure to pop the 'p'.

Sam pouts along with Adam. Unhooking my arm from hers I'm about to open the doors when our P.E. teacher yanks them and bellows "Time to come in and change!"
