The detectives made their way into the freezer. They both stopped at the door and looked at each other. The window of the freezer had been pierced. For anyone unfamiliar with the window of a freezer, let's just say this was close to impossible to break, let alone pierce through. Detective Schmitt's first thought was some kind of hot, metal poker. The window was made of a strong plexi-like material so it could be possible; couldn't it? They wrote everything down for later when it came time to see Michael again and ask him more questions. They inspected the window even closer and did not find any burn marks to indicate the hot poker Detective Schmitt had thought it could be. Both Detective Schmitt and Detective Brohmer were puzzled as they looked through the window from both sides. It was a clean piercing. As if someone had a sharp needle and pierced through the skin without missing a blink. That thought sent chills down Detective Brohmer's spine as he thought of who may have done this. If the person responsible had a weapon like this, the potential of their abilities was horrifying.

Both detectives looked into the freezer. It was dark and smelled like rotting flesh. In fact, if they hadn't found Michael first, they may have thought he was still in there...dead. They had to cover their noses as they entered. Detective Brohmer took out his flashlight. There was some kind of machine on the floor, upside down. The metal shelves were pulled over onto the ground and trays were scattered all over the place. Detective Schmitt turned his flashlight on and inspected the ground more closely. He noticed the blood and meat scattered on the floor. More correctly, he noticed the bones scattered on the floor.

Michael asked his father what Bob had to say and he told Michael all he said was: "This is Bob Morkle from the store. I just called to see if you are okay." Michael quickly reached for the phone. He checked the caller ID to see what numbers he had on there since Bob didn't leave one in the message. There were 7 missed calls so he had to figure out which one was Bob. He knew Ben's number so it had to be after that. Ben was the fifth caller so Michael only had two number to call.

He dialed the first number and someone answered on the first ring. It was a woman but she sounded young. Michael asked if this was the Morkle residence and the voice on the other end said "Michael?" It was Meg. She heard about what happened on the news and from some of her friends at work and she thought she would just check to see if there was anything she could do. She apologized for getting his number from someone at work, but he didn't care. It was nice to hear her voice. Michael started telling her what happened and she was very empathetic with the whole story. He told her how he stayed in the freezer all night and how Dorkle Morkle came to get him but left him outside by the garbage bins.

Meg explained that she felt really bad that she couldn't make it to work the next day. After she found out the store was closed, she was relieved since now she wouldn't miss the inventory. She assured Michael that she still planned on helping out since it would help her get more experience there and also, that Michael was very nice to her and wanted to help him out. Michael told her there wouldn't be any inventory for a while but would definitely let her know when the time came. There was a brief silence and Meg said she wanted to come see him in the hospital but the weather kept her from getting there. Michael asked if she would come see him at his house when the roads were safe. She agreed.

After hanging up the phone with Meg, Michael sat motionless for a moment. He stared into space, thinking about Meg. His father cleared his throat and waved his hand through the air in front of Michael's face and said; "Are you with us loverboy?" Michael snapped out of it and chuckled a little. He told his parents that she was a new girl at the store and he kind of liked her but hadn't been out with her or anything. Michael's parents smiled but didn't ask any questions. They knew that Michael would talk to them if he wanted to. Even though the curiosity was killing them. Michael just said he needed to call Bob Morkle. That was most important right now.
