This is an Ethan Dolan fanfiction because some people said that's what they wanted. So I'm taking a quick break from Loved and Lost to write this. Hope you enjoy :)
Prologue
He shoved me against the wall, my breath momentarily leaving my lungs. He pressed himself against me, blocking me in. I smirked, looking up at him, his dark brown hair hanging in front of his gray eyes and sweat dripping down his cheeks.
"C'mon, give me a challenge," I said, shoving him off me and throwing a few punches at him.
I accidentally punched his jaw a little too hard and he fell to the ground, cursing me. I stood over him, hands on my hips.
"Oops," I said unapologetically, ignoring the annoyed glare that I had gotten too used to.
"This is why you don't have a boyfriend," he growled, getting up and going to get an ice pack, me right on his heels.
"That's funny," I said, "Because I thought it was because you won't let me have one."
He glared at me again and I ignored him, taking the tape off my hands and throwing it in the garbage. After rummaging through the freezer he got a hello kitty ice pack, shoving past me to go back to the wrestling area.
"Look, I don't even know why were doing this," I argued, leaning on the wall as he punched a large red punching bag.
He stopped and looked at me. "Jackson is after you. You've got to be ready for him, he's a big guy."
"He's not that big," I mumbled under my breath, earning me a glare before he started punching the bag again.
"Cora," he warned, giving me his best 'stern' glare.
"Derek," I mocked him, pushing myself off the wall and walking across the room, "I'm going home, I'm tired."
"See you in my dreams," he called.
"Only if you're lucky," I joked, pushing the door open and letting the cold Los Angeles air cool me down.
It was almost 5 am, so the sun had set hours ago, leaving the town in a blanket of darkness. The streets were mostly empty with the exception of a few teenagers running around.
I walked for a good fifteen minutes until I came to my apartment complex. My eyes immediately went to my friend, Dylan's apartment to see if there was any light, which there was.
I ignored the doorman as he greeted me and ran up the three flights of stairs, but instead of going in my apartment I knocked once on Dylan's door before letting myself in.
"Hello beautiful," Dylan said, looking up from where the TV was playing .
"Hey handsome," I said, refusing to allow myself to fall onto the couch and curl up under blankets.
Instead, I went to the fridge to get some food, since mine was empty thanks to not having any money. I pulled out leftover pizza and ate some of that.
"Can I use your shower?" I asked.
"What's wrong with yours?" he asked, not even bothering to look up at me.
"It's broken."
He laughed. "Broken, or they shut it off because you refused to pay your bills."
"Same thing," I said, "And how am I supposed to pay for something when I don't have money."
I didn't wait for him to answer and went to the bathroom, locking the door because I know 100% if I didn't he would come in and scare me.
When I got out of the bathroom, Dylan had his head out of the window and he was looking down at something on the ground.
"Took you long enough," he said, turning and looking at me, "Its already almost 6."
"Whatever," I said, "What were you looking at?"
I walked over to the window, looking down. Two large moving trucks were parked outside the gates and a two similar looking boys with dark hair were carrying boxes.
"Looks like we've got neighbors," I said, smirking.
"Are you gonna go greet them?" Dylan asked, flopping on the couch.
"Can't," I said, walking to the door, "I've gotta go. I'm meeting up with some people."
Dylan grunted in response and I left, locking the door on my way out. I went across the hall to my apartment and started getting ready. Lucky for me, I got to see Jackson today. If you couldn't tell, that was sarcasm.
I changed into black jeans, a plain white shirt and a leather jacket. I left my dark brown hair naturally wavy because to be honest I just couldn't be bothered by it and just covered it with a black beanie. Then I finished getting ready, throwing on my black high top vans and leaving, not bothering to lock the door behind me.
I turned and bumped into someone, knocking all their boxes on the ground. Getting ready to curse them out, I looked up to see one of the new neighbors. He had dark brown messy hair and green/brown eyes with a jawline so sharp it could cut you. I could see his muscles through his shirt and his collarbones were poking out.
"I'm Ethan," he smiled, holding his hand out for me to shake.
I ignored his gesture and he awkwardly pulled his arm back, rubbing his neck uncomfortably. He cleared his throat.
"Um, so I guess we're your new neighbors," he said, trying to make small talk, "And what's your name?"
I ignored him again, I hate small talk. I glanced down at the boxes on the floor and smirked, looking up at him.
"You should really pick those up," I said, patting him on the shoulder, "Someone could trip."
I stepped over the boxes, not bothering to help him with them. Once I turned the corner, I saw the other boy who was also moving in, who looked very similar to the other one.
"Your brother needs some help," I said.
"Could you maybe help us?" he asked, his eyebrows scrunching up in a pleading way.
I smirked. "Maybe next time."
I shoved past him and took the stairs down to the lobby because all the elevators were broken and no one bothered to fix them.
