Mr. Delicious Ch. 3

“Oh gosh, I’m so sorry! You okay?” A warm but masculine voice asked. I looked up to see a guy with honey blonde hair and concerned blue eyes. I nodded at him and he smiled at me.

“I’m Trevor, it’s nice to meet you,” he said while holding a hand out for me to shake.

I placed my hand in his and said “likewise; my name is Natalia.”

“Well, Natalia, I haven’t seen you around here before. Are you new?” He asked me with a strange glint in his eye.

“Uh, yeah. As a matter of fact I was trying to find the main office before I bumped into you. That way I can enroll myself.” I told him.

“Well then, you’re in luck. I can show you where it is if you’d like.” Thank god.

“Really? I would be glad if you would; I’ve been wandering around trying to find it forever.”

He chuckled “well our school is kinda weird. All of the offices are on the very top floor.”

I groaned. “Great. More stairs to climb, whoopee,” I said sarcastically which earned me a grin from Trevor. He motioned for me to follow him and we climbed what seemed like a hundred stair cases before we reached the top floor.

There were only a couple of offices up here but right in front of me there was a doorway and above it was a sign that read ‘MAIN OFFICE’ in big letters. I turned and thanked Trevor for guiding me and he left to go back to class.

I walked through the doorway and up to the reception desk where an old lady behind it on a chair, playing games on the computer. I cleared my throat and she jumped, quickly exited out of the game, and faced me.

A slight pink tinge rose on her cheeks at being caught.

“Hi. I’m Natalia Evans…I just moved here.” I told her smiling brightly.

She smiled back. “Welcome dear. All you have to do is fill out all these papers at home and then bring them in tomorrow, completed, and you may start tomorrow.” She handed the papers to me and I thanked her, walking back towards the door when I stopped and turned back to her.

“And don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about your love for playing Pac Man on the computer at work. Awesome game choice by the way.” I winked at her and turned back around.

After I left the school, I went back home to discover that the moving van had arrived. When I parked in the driveway, two men got out of the van and walked toward me.

“Good morning, you’re Ms. Natalia Evans, am I correct?” One man asked me. I nodded and said yes then he made me sign some papers. He and his partner then helped me to move furniture into the house. They took care of the beds and TV’s while I brought the other things in. When we were done I thanked and tipped them both before they left, leaving me in the quiet house.

I went through some boxes and began putting stuff away, then I put sheets on the beds and put away clothes in the twins’ closet. I put their toys away and lay down a lavender colored rug in the center of the room. I went downstairs to the kitchen and started to put plates and cups in the cabinets.

I plopped down on the couch and sighed; finally this house was starting to look like a home.

When it was time, I went and picked up the twins from preschool. They were both very excited to see me and ran to me from where they were playing with blocks on the floor.
