Bennett -

"So when you kissed Hope and her sister punched you?" Oliver asked, his eyes narrowing at my swollen face.

"She has some weird hatred for me, she acts like I am hurting Hope on purpose or something." I shrugged, remembering all her glares and hateful comments.

"Did Hope say anything?" He questioned shoving books in his locker.

"No, Charlie restrained her, it was weird." I said thoughtfully thinking about last night which was full of strange adventurers. "Did you do anything yesterday?"

"Not really, I pulled an all nighter on Xbox" he muttered cramming another book into the already over flowing book bag. He zipped up his bag and closed his locker. He turned back to me and a smirk covered his face as he looked behind me. "Looks like we have company," he tutted.

I turned around to see Hope walking over to us. My eyes widened and I quickly faced back towards Oliver. "Do I look okay?" I asked, patting down my hair.

"Aw is the little boy worried," he teased ruffling my hair.

"You're a bloody arse," I yelled pushing him off me.

"Woah Bennett, naughty words there and to say them in front of a lovely lady. For shame," he smirked challengingly at me.

"Oliver, charming as always," Hope said laughing.

Heat crawled to my cheeks as I tried to causally turn to her and kick my best friend. It wasn't exactly subtle considering I tripped slightly on his foot and fell forward way too close to Hope. "Hey," I say trying to act natural.

"Well I'll leave you two, see you at lunch. And text me," Oliver said winking and chuckling slightly as he waved leaving.

"Bye hobknocker!" I shouted after him. He quickly flipped me off turning the corner. Hope laughed quietly as I glanced at her, looking over what she was wearing, a long skirt and a baggy jumper part of our uniform.

"So what's up?" I asked trying to sound cool and chill.

"Your tie is messed up," she laughed fixing it.

"Thanks," I muttered blushing, looking everywhere but her eyes.

"Anyways, I came over to ask you if you were going to Matt's party?" She asked biting her lip. "I heard Violet is coming back to town and she's going to be there so I thought you should know."

"Violet's back?!" I yelled flabbergasted. Last I seen her, she was moving to New York. She slapped me in the face and said she hoped my dog dies. I don't even have a dog, she's such a bitch.

"Yeah, I think it'd be nice to be together. Like the three of us used to, remember?" Hope said a faint smile on her face.

Hope, Violet and I were best friends because we all lived right next to each other as we grew up. But when Hope's mum got sick they moved closer to the hospital so it'd be easy to have her home and it's safer incasse something would have happened. And then Violet's dad had gotten a new job in New York so I was the only one left in our childhood playground. "Yea I remember, like when Violet made me eat grass." I said with a bit of hate in my eyes.

Hope giggled shaking her head. "Yea, but we were little things have changed."

Yeah, things have changed. Violet hates me a lot more now. And it's all because of Hope, it's not like she did anything. But were both in love with her. "Well I'll see if I can go to Matt's party," I say with a sigh. I really don't want Hope to see Violet because I was so close to getting her back.
