Chapter 13:Diamond Necklace

Josh and I dated for about a month, and then his parents forced him to break up with me because they thought I was using him for his family's money.

Of course, Josh and I still found a way to communicate with each other although his family forbid him to see or talk to me anywhere that isn't our school. We'd text from time to time but he'd have to delete them right after so his parents wouldn't find out that we stayed in touch.

"Hey babe. I miss you..."

Josh - "I've missed you too Jocelyn."

"I hate that we don't get to see each other anymore"

Josh - "Yeah, it sucks. I know....but hey, look at the bright side. Vanessa is having a party tonight and I wanted to know if you'd go with me."

"Of course babe, can't wait to see you again. I'll be sure to wear something you'll like."

"Sounds good to me"  Josh whispered as he wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me in for a brief, yet passionate kiss.  After letting me go, he walked me to my English class.

"I'll see you at lunch babe." I said, blowing him a kiss as he walked away.

Class was just about to begin, and we had a replacement teacher named Mr. Whitman who would more than likely be an even bigger douche than our last teacher.

He didn't bother introducing himself or asking us to do the same. I guess he already had ideas about us I guess .

We all sat down in our seats while the teacher put on a movie as he had some business to attend to. There were a few empty seats next to mine, where Kara and Katelyn soon sat.

Katelyn - "Sooooo....how are you and Josh?"

"We're ok I guess. It's just been kinda hard to see each other because his parents are being difficult. "

Kara - "what? How?"

"They think I only want him because he's got money."

Katelyn - "He pursued you though and you seem like you love him a lot, Jocelyn."

Kara - "Yeah, you may be some things but a gold digger isn't one of them."

"Yeah but good thing he's meeting me at Vanessa's party."

Kara - "Vanessa? I thought you hated her!"

"I'm not going there to entertain her, I'm just going for Josh."

Katelyn - "Well I guess we will go too in case she tries to start some shit."

"Thanks guys." I respond.

Leo walks over and sits near us. My friends give him glares of disapproval.

Leo - "Can I talk to you for a sec?"

I signal them, letting them know it's ok for them to leave while Leo talks to me.
