After
You don't know true fear until you've survived a Montana winter. Temperatures down to negative thirty degrees, wind blows 40-50 miles per hour, and all you want to do is board yourself in your house in front of a fire. Evidently, there isn't any houses in the wilderness.
I decide to pack up and leave my makeshift refuge on a track for California. It was going to be a lengthy journey of nearly a thousand miles all on foot- it would take close to two weeks.
I have to pack light so I only pack what I need. The tent is too heavy so I leave it out along with a few books. I pack a few pairs of socks, all of the food and water I found, a thin blanket, my stockpile of tampons, and a toothbrush and toothpaste. My mother was a dentist so you have no right to judge me for my oral hygiene habits.
Along with my necessities, I pack Rose's favorite doll, a page from my dad's favorite book, and one of my numerous piano books. Before the Mania, I was supposed to be famous for playing the piano. I was supposed to go to Juliard for playing the piano but that never happened. I never even had a chance to graduate high school._______________________________________________________Sorry for the short update but I promise the next one is going to longer!
