Chapter Ten:

Pure Happiness

Jake's POV

"Zena, this mate bond is more than just a poll between us. We are made for each other and to project each other as well. I want to get to know you better and I will wait as long as you need me to. I will never pressure you into anything.

I gave up trying to explain myself to her. Only other way I thought I could get what my feelings were and my answer across to her. Was to just kiss her with with as much of my feeling as I could. I walked over to her. Her eyes challenging me. "May I kiss you?" I whispered my lips already hovering over hers. "Yes." I quickly put our lips together. I made sure it was slow and passionate.I bit her lip asking to deepen the kiss. I felt her smile against my lips and she in turn bit mine. I took that chance to deepen the kiss. We danced with our tongues for a bit. I pulled away giving us both air. I could not stop the smile that fought to my face.

"That was the best kiss i've ever had." I whispered in her ear. With that I kissed her again.This time however she didn't just give in so easily to the kiss. She let me peck her slightly swollen lips, then she pulled away.

"We better get going." She's a tease. I thought to myself. With a smile on my face.

"Yes, but where are we going?" I asked her with a gleam in my eye. I wonder what she has planned. Her eyes also has a shining glint in them and she grab my hand pulling me into the living room and push me onto the couch. Once I was sitting down I watch as her cute little butt walked over to the tv and turn it on. She then grabbed two remote controllers and sat down next me to me. I looked at her and smiled.

"You sure babe?" I winked. There was no way I was going to lose. Every game we have in this house I have beat everyone and they were good. Not as good as me though.

"I've beaten my Alpha before you know." I told her with a confident smirk on my face. It quickly wiped off when I saw her face.  She was looking at me with a challenging glare. A glare! Fine, game on.

Zena turned on the game she wanted which was Call of Duty. I was sure I would win.

Six hours later I put the game controller down and threw my hands up in defeat!

"I give! I can't do this anymore!" I have lost count of how many games we had played against each other. "I cant believe I keep losing! How? Why?" I glared at Zena and pouted.

"Well, I was just getting warmed up!"  Zena smiled at me.

"Hey, Jake!" Said Nathan. He came in and saw the TV screen. "Call of Duty." He said and looked over and saw my punted face. "Someone beat you? Oh great gamer?"

"Shut up Nathan. It's not like I tried to lose. I can't beat my mate. Zena." I grumbled. Still pouting. Nathan is a good warrior of mine so I don't mind him coming near Zena.

"Is that so?" Nathan said with a look that simply said. Yeah right.

"Is that a challenge Nathan?" My sweet mate challenged.

With an raised eyebrow Nathan Answered "Game on." Little did I know that the next few hours would be the best entertainment of my life.

Even after two hours of Nathan and I trying to beat Zena TOGETHER we still could not win. I noticed that she started to look tired and stopped the game. I linked Nathan that it was time for us to go to bed and thanked him for coming over.

"It was fun Nathan we should hangout again sometime." Zena said smiling ear to ear.

Ah, the start of a new friendship. I thought to myself. "Anything else and he won't like what will happen." Said my wolf. "Relax it's Nathan!" I stated.

Nathan left and Zena and I were just sitting in the living room. "Want to go to bed?" I asked.

"Ew, Jake I may have feelings for you but that does not mean I am willing to have-" I cut her off.

"I meant to sleep. Do you want to go to sleep? Hit the hay sound better?" I winked and start walking to our room.

"In fact it does sound much better." Zena said catching up with me. I put my arm around her and walked up the stairs. Once we were in the room I grabbed clean boxers and started changing.

"What are you doing! Stop! Wait!" My sweet little mate panicked and ran into the bathroom with her clothes. Once I heard the shower running I changed and laid down in bed.

I heard the door open and close. The blanket moved and I felt the bed dip as she laid down in bed. I waited a while till I heard the steady breathing and wrapped my arm around her bringing her closer to me. She cuddled close to my side and with that a smile came onto my face and that is how I fell asleep. With my mate safe in my arms.

It has been 2 years! I seem to be saying sorry a lot. I have had a heck of a two years. I joined the Army and currently a senior in high school taking college classes. This all a work in progress so thank you to everyone who keeps reading my story A Cold Night. It means the world to me! I know it need editing really bad. On my google doc I seem to have a lot more edited there then on here. I'm truly a lazy person and don't want to change anything because I can look back and think. Wow, I wrote like that? Anyway, I want to thank you all again. :D
