Dan sat alone at his desk. He had gotten to school early so he just had to sit and wait. Suzy showed up, eventually.

"Hey Danny!" Suzy said as she walked into the classroom. "You're here early."

"Yeah... I woke up earlier than usual and I couldn't go back to sleep." Dan said quietly, drifting off.

"Alright... Is something on your mind?" Suzy said, setting her bag in the chair next to Dan.

Dan shook his head slowly, staring blankly. Something was always on his mind.

Suzy nodded in concern, but brushed it off quickly. It was normal for Dan to be like this. He always seemed so lonely, as if he were waiting for something. For someone.

Suzy is Danny's closest friend, they have known each other since Freshman year. Danny has some other friends, but Suzy is the best. He can tell her anything, but he doesn't love her. Everyone picks on them saying, "You guys are perfect for each other!", "You guys should date!".

Danny just doesn't feel anything for her. He even tried to, but he felt... off.

Danny was snapped out of his daydreaming when the bell rang, realizing the classroom was full of students. The teacher stood up from his desk and asked one of the students to come up to the front of the room. Dan didn't see who he pointed to, he was staring out the window.

"This is Arin Hanson, he's new to our class." Said the teacher, gesturing to the boy in the sailor moon shirt.

Dan looked to the front, and his eyes widen. "Ohh..." He said softly.

Suzy looked at him as he heard his enthusiastic noise. She looked at Arin. She smirked.

"Pff... nice shirt dude." Said someone at the back of the classroom. "Thank you, it's one of my favorites." Said Arin.

The class giggled.

Dan still stared, his eyes seem to be filled with joy.

"Hi Arin." Danny said.

Arin looked at Danny, and waved shyly.

Arin sat next to Suzy, talking to each other softly.

Danny glanced at Arin every few seconds, but avoided making eye contact.

'Arin...I like him. I enjoy him here.' Danny thought constantly.

The teacher interrupted Dan's thoughts suddenly. "Avidan! Pay attention. This will be-" Danny doesn't know what he said next, he was looking at Arin again.

The bell rang, and class was dismissed. Danny walked into the hallway, waiting for Suzy to walk outside too. Suzy walked out, Arin beside her. Danny blushed softly, trying to act like Arin isn't looking at him. "Arin is really cool!" Suzy said to Danny before Dan could say anything.

"Oh..awesome!" Dan said. "I'd love to get to know you, Arin."

"What's your name?"

Danny smiled awkwardly, holding his hand out. "I'm Daniel. Daniel Avidan. But you can just call me Danny."
