Chapter 4 - Normal...ish

The plane ride back was a lot more relaxed but I couldn't help letting my mind slip back to the event we had just witnessed. Why would they just leave? How did they get away so fast? My questions bubbled around my mind as we finally landed.

"So you guys are ok, right?" Scarlett asked, My attention was now drawn towards the convocation, feeling guilty about not considering my comrades state sooner.

"Yeah, were ok. A bit dizzy," Ava murmured still half-asleep.

I asked them whether they wanted to go to the medical bay but they said they'd be ok. Apart for the obvious lack of sleep they seemed normal... ish.

We all split off after that, doing our own activities so I didn't see them until it happened.

AGHHHHHHHH!

A screech is heard from the main hall and I race out to see what was going on. L was poised in front of Ava Kitchen knife in hand. She advanced towards her whilst Ava scooted back and pressed her back against the wall. A psychopathic sile plastered itself across L's face as she raised her weapon nearing Ava's location.

Instinctively, I flung myself tackling L t the ground whilst Ella, who appeared at the door opposite me, clutched the knife away from her. L's eyes were ravenous and lacked the ability to focus; she struggled against me as I held her back. Scarlett and Darcie joined us after hearing the commotion. Me and Scarlett dragged L outside and Darcie helped Ava to her feet. What the hell just happened?!

As soon as we got outside L collapsed on the floor. I knelt down beside her, weapon still raised in case this was a trick. When her eyes opened again my heart began to beat fast with adrenaline. One look at her ever so confused expression told us she had no idea what just happened.

"You seriously don't remember a thing?" Scarlett asked concerned. L shook her head intently and sat weakly up. We help her stumble back inside as the sun set behind us and cool winds bite at our necks. What the hell just happened?!
